Today’s launch is a win for all Lunacians. 20% of all net profits go to the Axie Community Treasury. We have lifted all commercial restrictions on merchandising and artwork for Mystic and Origin Axies, and are open sourcing some merch files for import to your local printer.
For five years, our dedicated Lunacians have been on the front lines without easy access to Axie merchandise. That changed today. Official Axie Merchandise is Now Available!
Axie has served as the portal to Web 3 for over 2 million gamers. It is the only NFT project that can claim this.
With over 2 million Axie holders and over $4 billion in trading volume, we are part of history, but there has long been a barrier between the digital and physical worlds.
Axie merchandise gives you a way to introduce yourself to friends and family who may have been interested in becoming Lunacians, members of the Axie nation, but didn’t know where to start or may not be gamers themselves. We also partnered with Grab, Asia’s Uber, to experiment with using mainstream applications as a distribution channel.
Sky Mavis is based in Vietnam, Filipino is the heartbeat of Axie, and Ronin draws inspiration from Japanese samurai history. We have always had strong roots in Asia, and we look forward to deepening those roots even further with Merch Store, starting with the Philippines. We have partnered with Grab to offer some additional benefits to Filipino Lunacians. Visit the Merch Store through the Grab app to earn Grab rewards points and receive discount codes that can be used to purchase specific items from the Merch Store.
This is my first ride with Grab, and I look forward to communicating with Lunasians from more regions across Southeast Asia!
Yesterday we shared a ton of information about Merch Store rewards. It’s great to be able to get content for free, but I’d like to highlight three ways this release will benefit all Lunacians now and in the future.
First, 20% of net profits go to the Axie Community Treasury. This means Axie Merch Store is part of a community-owned business.
Second, it lifted commercial restrictions on merchandising and artwork from Mystic and Origin Axies. This means that if you have these rare Axies, you can not only produce and sell goods, but you can also create cafes, comics, restaurants, and toys using these Axies. This gives owners of these collectible axes the option to use them in new ways. Even gaming products must go through the official Axie Builders program.
Third, we provide some product files as open source. Anyone, anywhere can create their own Axie merchandise by printing at home or at a local print shop! Like our updated Mystic and Origin commercial licenses, this will unlock the creativity of our community like never before and benefit everyone in our digital nation.
