Cega Launches 'Vault Token Market' Providing Liquidity and Flexibility for Investors

Cega, a decentralized finance (DeFi) structured investment platform, has launched the Vault Token Market (VTM), designed to improve investment management by providing users with greater liquidity, usability, and flexibility.

The new features aim to maximize the utility of the Cega Vault token, starting with the offramping feature, which gives users quick access to liquidity, and allows them to close positions during the trading cycle. Currently, VTM operates on both the Arbitrum and Ethereum networks.

VTM allows users to sell Vault tokens mid-epoch via limit orders, giving them instant access to liquidity when they need it, without having to wait until the end of the trading cycle to withdraw or reallocate capital.

VTM also enhances the utility of the Vault token beyond early termination. It aims to maximize the potential of Cega’s yield-generating Vault token within the broader DeFi ecosystem. Users can expand their options by exploring a variety of opportunities, including liquid staking, re-staking, and collateralized lending.

VTM allows users to trade Cega Vault tokens on the open market. In addition, there is a “Benchmark Price” tool that calculates the fair market value of a user’s Vault tokens, taking into account factors such as expiration time, yield gains, and current market conditions. This ensures optimal execution for users, whether they are selling tokens or pursuing discounted positions.

To celebrate the launch of VTM, Cega has teamed up with Galxe to host a time-limited quest where participants can now earn $500 to invest by completing four quests.

Sega: What is it?

Cega is a platform that applies traditional finance (TradFi) investment strategies to the DeFi market. The platform allows holders of the dollar-pegged stablecoin USDC to earn returns without actively managing their positions. Users can deposit USDC, ETH, or wrapped staked Ether (wstETH) into a vault, which generates attractive yields by leveraging strategies involving packaged exotic derivatives, including fixed coupon bonds and put spreads. Vault participants receive Cega vault tokens that reflect their financial stake in these investment strategies.

It has facilitated over $500 million in transactions to date. It currently has over $10 million in total value locked (TVL), making it the third largest decentralized exotic derivatives protocol globally. The project is backed by prominent investors including Dragonfly Capital and Pantera Capital.
