Beeple unveils 4th edition of His Heaven + Hell NFT artwork

In an October 11 blog post, internationally acclaimed digital artist Beeple confirmed that he had successfully sold the fourth edition of his Heaven + Hell non-fungible token collection to Kanbas. Beeple launched the first Heaven + Hell NFT collection in March 2023 and has evolved it over time. However, he has not disclosed the amount of money he has earned from his recent NFT collection.

Beeple is a renowned American digital artist, graphic designer, and animator known for selling collections of non-fungible tokens. In his artistry, Beeple uses a variety of media to create comical and fantastical works that make political and social commentary while using pop culture figures as references. Beeple entered the cryptocurrency market in 2018 but remained passive until early 2020, when he began learning about the then-new NFTs.

In late 2020, NFT artist Beeple tokenized his “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” into an NFT collection, which has since gained a huge valuation, selling for nearly $70 million. In October 2020, days before the U.S. presidential election, Beeple released three works, including an NFT collection called “Politics Is Bullshit,” which sold for more than $6.6 million on NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway.

Since then, Beeple, known for his groundbreaking NFT art, has created Mother of Evolution, Human One, kinetic 3D video sculpture, Pilgrimage, Spring/Summer Collection 2021, Genesis NFT Collection, All Hail The King collection, Everydays: Group Effort by Beeple collection, Time The Future of Business Super Rare, Beeple // Everydays: The Rebirth of Godzilla and more NFT collections.

Beeple Heaven + Hell 4th Edition NFT Collection Overview

Beeple has launched the fourth edition of its Heaven+ Hell NFT collection using generative AI. To make this work even more unique, Beeple used an open-source model trained on millions of historical depictions of heaven and hell. In this way, the work represents the average human understanding of these complex abstract concepts. The NFT artwork features a double rotating box that reflects the exact opposite of this idea.

The Heaven + Hell Art Collection is a kinetic sculpture comprised of eight screens and accompanying NFTs. This NFT art collection showcases Beeple’s mastery of creating complex, immersive works that exist both digitally and physically. The screen displays AI-generated images that evolve over time, referencing themes of good and evil from art history, and drawing inspiration from artists such as William Blake and Hieronymus Bosch. This is the first time Beeple has used AI to create a work of art.
