Why This Matters: Colony’s AI settings allow avatars to retain memories, learn from experiences, and influence each other through conversation. Sometimes, avatars ignore suggestions from human players based on their unique personalities and experiences accumulated over time. As such, Colony is the first title to go all-in on the intersection of generative AI and blockchain gaming.

On-Chain Maps for AI: Built on Solana to power AI gameplay in Parallel Colony, Wayfinder is a new protocol designed to bring the power of AI agents on-chain. Simply put, this system allows AI agents, called “shells,” to navigate the blockchain environment, perform transactions, and interact with decentralized apps.
At its core, Wayfinder is like a map and toolkit that AI agents can use to move around the blockchain. Much like you use the Maps app on your phone to find the best route to a new restaurant, Wayfinder provides “wayfinding routes” to your AI agent. These paths are a set of instructions that help agents achieve specific goals on-chain, such as trading on a decentralized exchange or minting NFTs.
OmniChain Tool: Solana will be the home of Wayfinder, but Solana’s architecture and “wayfinding path” development will allow it to operate seamlessly across a wide range of blockchains. The protocol will initially support the most popular chains such as Ethereum, Solana, and Base, but additional networks are expected to be added through governance over time.
New AI Token: The Wayfinder white paper proposes PROMPT as a utility and governance token within the Wayfinder ecosystem. Their roles are varied, including facilitating governance, paying for the creation of AI agents, and paying gas fees for transactions around the Wayfinder ecosystem. You can also stake PROMPT to propose new pathfinding routes, and stakers earn a portion of the transaction fees generated when the route is used.
PROMPT Deployment: The maximum supply of PROMPT is set to 1 billion. The officially approved distribution strategy will see tokens allocated to a variety of stakeholders, including the Wayfinder Foundation, developers and users. Specifically, 40% of all PROMPT tokens will be distributed as rewards over three years to those who “cash” or stake PRIME within Wayfinder. Therefore, not only will Parallel Colony become a powerful new deflation sink for PRIME tokens, but PROMPT rewards will also undoubtedly increase demand for PRIME in the near future.
big picture: Wayfinder was created to power Parallel Colony, but its infrastructure is open and can be used for a variety of use cases in both gaming and non-gaming environments. For example, on-chain games can use Wayfinder to spin up their own autonomous AI agents or manage the discovery and distribution of scarce in-game resources. This protocol can be used to create smart trading or NFT mining bots or AI customer service agents. Here the possibilities going forward are largely limited by our imagination, and any project interested in on-chain AI capabilities should take note accordingly.
Personally speaking, it is difficult to explain how optimistic I am about parallel ecosystems. And parallel colonies are a huge key to that equation. And beyond just pure excitement, I think Colony has a sensible design that could actually be beneficial to both gamers and the wider Parallel ecosystem. If nothing else, this is one of the biggest gaming experiments going on, not just in cryptocurrency, but in all of gaming, and should be tracked accordingly. That’s the bottom line.
As a PRIME holder myself, and descriptively speaking, one of the things I like about Colony is the way it now exposes its parallel ecosystem to all the dominant chains in cryptoeconomics. The major parallel TCGs cover Ethereum and Base, Colony covers Solana, and Wayfinder covers chains from the Cosmos appchain to Ethereum L2 and everything in between.
More importantly, the Wayfinder protocol is not just an engine for Colony, but for the broader crypto AI environment. Soon, projects of all kinds will be able to leverage the Wayfinder system to introduce AI into their on-chain processes. I believe this will be a huge help to PRIME and the wider Parallel ecosystem, not to mention the AI x cryptocurrency project as a whole!
