Using Triple Entry Accounting for Audits, Hollywood: CoinGeek Backstage

The Triple Entry Accounting (TEA) inaugural conference “was a huge success and the presentations were enlightening,” says Dr. Eva Porras. In an interview with CoinGeek Backstage, Porras discussed applying triple-entry accounting, and she singled out an outstanding presentation at the November event.

Held in Malta, the conference is the brainchild of industry giant Ian Grigg. The first edition was centered around the slogan “A new accounting paradigm for the information age”, with Grigg presenting papers alongside experts such as UNISOT’s Torje Sunde.

Porras is the CEO of Blockchain Smart Technologies, a Dubai-based blockchain consulting firm operating in over 50 countries. She is also an investor in several blockchain companies “developing solutions that enhance legacy technologies through blockchain.”

The first edition of the conference was a huge success, Porras told CoinGeek Backstage.

“The presentations either addressed many of the issues or were very enlightening due to real-world examples,” she said, hoping the conference would be the first of many.

Porras called Sunde’s presentation one of the most practical. UNISOT CFO explained how triple entry accounting can be utilized to audit Norwegian companies and how attendees can translate the same in their companies. nChain was also represented, and according to Porras, the London company’s presentation complemented Tunde’s paper.

Ted Rivera’s presentation focusing on Hollywood’s triple entry accounting also stood out at Porras.

“It was about distribution of rights, money and how to avoid corruption in this industry. He got us all involved and helped us understand the problem and how the solution came about through triple entry. Accounting skills,” Porras told CoinGeek Backstage.
