From existing games to Web3 paradigm
First released in 2017 by indie studio Spiritwalk Games, Shardbound initially appeared as a traditional PC game but failed to capture a large audience at first.
But the story changed last March when Bazooka Tango joined Immutable Games and revealed plans to modify and expand the original game with blockchain technology.
The game is getting closer to being completely rebuilt with the deployment of Immutable zkEVM, an Ethereum scaling network that recently debuted in early access.
As limited play testing approaches, both gaming giants exude optimism and ambition to demonstrate how games can effectively leverage the benefits of blockchain technology, especially NFTs.
