Today’s cryptocurrency and Web3 developments represent a shift within the realm of decentralized technologies, encompassing regulatory developments, investments, and the impact of cryptocurrencies on politics.

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced plans to draft a strategy document to promote Web3 innovation. The new strategy outlines Web3’s development trajectory, technology priorities, and application model, addressing key issues such as inheritance, innovation, security, and balancing government and market dynamics.

The document’s focus will expand to government affairs and industrial sectors, encouraging the development of new business models such as NFTs and decentralized applications (DApps) and accelerating the creative use of Web3 along with building digital ecosystems.

HTX Ventures, the global investment arm of Huobi HTX cryptocurrency exchange, announced that it has completed its investment in Web3 education platform Academic Labs. This investment aims to enable Academic Labs to provide greater introduction opportunities to new Web3 users and drive educational engagement among native users through the token and NFT system.

Academic Labs is a platform that leverages AI and Web3 technologies to enhance the educational experience. The platform teaches essential skills such as software development, trading strategies, business English, and startup fundamentals, and uses Adaptive AI to gamify practical learning.

The Web3 infrastructure Spheron platform is set to launch Spheron Computing, a decentralized edge container protocol that aims to solve the challenges presented by centralized cloud providers, such as vendor lock-in, performance, scalability, and security.

Built to accelerate digital transformation efforts, Spheron’s distributed edge containers aim to drive mainstream adoption of Web3 infrastructure, providing a powerful platform for businesses.

Shiba Inu, one of the leading digital assets and cryptocurrencies, announced a partnership with domain name startup D3 Global to secure its top-level domain “.shib” for better user experience within Web3 environments.

According to Shiba Inu, the new domain will provide a unique and easily recognizable digital address for the ecosystem, similar to other organizations that have “.com” or “.org” at the end of their web addresses. This partnership positions Shiba Inu as one of the early adopters of the Web3 industry, which integrates interoperable domains to improve the overall accessibility and functionality of digital assets.

“We are preparing blockchain experts, cybersecurity experts and cryptocurrency experts,” Indonesian vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka told a political gathering.

As of September 2023, there are a significant 17.91 million registered cryptocurrency investors in Indonesia, according to a report by the Futures and Exchange Supervisory Board (Bappebti). The data highlights a growing trend in domestic digital asset adoption, reflecting the broader global shift towards cryptocurrency acceptance.
