Third-party audits confirm that World Coin’s Orb device is sufficiently secure

Third-party security auditors have confirmed that Worldcoin’s iris scanning devices are sufficiently secure to protect against hackers.

World Coin is a new cryptocurrency project launched in mid-2023. Sam Altman, the founder of this project, aimed to provide a better level of decentralized human identity verification protocol with the help of this cryptocurrency project. Altman is the CEO of OpenAI, a famous artificial intelligence (AI) company, and has expertise in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

On March 14, 2024, the World Coin team shared an audit report on the Orb device from third-party security auditor Trails of Bit.

Security experts from a security audit firm examined World Coin’s Orb devices for six weeks and found that the devices were secure enough to protect against hackers and all types of malicious actors.
The report noted that it did not find any type of vulnerability related to Orb devices.

The Orb device is used to scan human eye iris data and send it to the World Coin app.
Many critics argue that the collection of human data by non-governmental organizations is extremely risky and could be misused by malicious actors or governments in the case of hacking attacks.
Now, this latest audit report will certainly help silence the world’s coin critics.

World Coins and Legal Obstacles

Since the project began, regulators in many countries have opposed this non-government-backed application, many of which have banned the collection of human data.

Recently, Spain’s privacy watchdog ordered the company Worldcoin to cease operations. The move comes after concerns were raised about Worldcoin’s practice of scanning eyeballs to create digital IDs in exchange for cryptocurrency WLD Coin.

However, the Worldcoin project aimed to solve the future challenge of identifying humans and internet bots, but in this age of the internet world, there is no need for such verification tools and perhaps this is the reason why the World Coin project is not receiving significant adoption and support. . in the world.
