I’ll admit it. I was pretty skeptical at first. As a long-time recruiting leader, I’ve seen exciting new technologies that have the potential to transform recruiting. But when a fast-growing startup adopted an AI-powered recruiting tool last year, I swiped right and matched it with what I love most about my professional life!

Let’s go back to life before algorithms entered our world. I read uninspiring resumes until my eyes bleed. Stay up late at night sorting through meaningless Excel columns on the same application. While the computer quickly verifies functionality, I can focus purely on connecting with people to discover intangible things like driving.

The rise of the recruiting machine no longer keeps me up at night because the algorithms are operating cooperatively as my wingmen instead of stealing center stage. I feel that spark again by reinventing some of the parts of talent acquisition that had slowly been sapping my passion.
