Palm Foundation Provides Grants to Lagos and Momentum Artist Residency Programs

The Palm Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting creative projects built on the Palm Network, has issued a series of residency grants for creative artists. Twenty grants are being awarded through the Momentum-Lagos artist residency program, co-located in Berlin and Mexico City, respectively.
Despite operating on opposite continents, Lagos and Momentum host exchanges between the two institutions to support artist residencies in Berlin and Mexico City. In 2024, the program will be open to international artists and curators of all nationalities and countries. The expanded initiative is made possible through a partnership with the Palm Foundation. Through the Palm Creator Collective, the Palm Foundation will provide grants and technical support to artists-in-residence to explore the possibilities that blockchain technology offers for creators.
Twenty artists will each receive grants of up to $750 throughout 2024, effectively offsetting the costs of living in Berlin or Mexico City. To receive a grant, artists must commit to creating three to five NFTs as part of their residency project.
Technical support for NFT mining is provided by the Palm Foundation, and artists retain all intellectual and commercial rights to their work. Additionally, if you want to sell your NFTs, you can also choose a commercial platform.
The partnership between Momentum-Lagos and Palm Foundation will support the professional development of artists invited to participate in the residency. This will give you the ability to work with NFTs, integrate them into your work and embrace the creative opportunities that digital technologies offer.
Artists participating in the Momentum-Lagos residency program are free to create work using the medium of their choice. Project proposals are evaluated based on their socio-political relevance and the relationship between identity and community. Applicants must complete the online form at https://www.artelagos.mx/lagos-momentum and submit their resume and short biography. Artists selected for online interviews will advance to the final stage of the selection process within four weeks. Artists who choose to create three to five additional NFTs will be eligible for a Palm Foundation grant.
