The annual OpenSimulator festival, known as OSFest, takes place from September 15 to September 30 within the OSFest virtual world grid. The 16-day event will feature live music, exhibitions, lectures, tours, social spaces, shopping and more for attendees from across the hypergrid metaverse.
This year, OSFest will offer 94 hours of non-music events at free themed exhibitions, franchises and sponsored exhibitions, as well as 98 hours of live music performances across four stages.
Attendees can explore themed exhibits, shop stores with special merchandise, and socialize at parties and dance events. There is no participation fee for OSFest.
To attend OSFest 2023, users will need an account on a hypergrid-enabled OpenSim grid and can teleport using the map. Hypergrid address is Grid.opensimfest.com:8002:hg-welcome.
“We are excited to welcome the expanded metaverse community and hypergrid travelers to OSFest this year,” said lead organizer Shelenn Ayres. “It’s an immersive way to connect, have fun, and experience expansive creativity in the virtual world.”
The event builds on the success of previous OSFests, which have been held annually since 2017. Every year, new exhibits, stages, and infrastructure are created by volunteers. OSFest also relies on donations from sponsors to cover basic hosting costs for the free event.

Organizers recommend picking up a box of landmarks upon arrival to help you navigate the larger area. With the theme of ‘Jazz through the Ages’, clothing matching the style of the 1860s to 1970s is recommended, but not required.
