Mimic Shhans MMSS Token

Towards the end of 2022, Mimic Shhans (SHAN) experienced a decline in price and decreased interest.

Amid the thriving Bitcoin ecosystem, proposals have emerged within the community to revive activities such as bonding with cats (BRC-20) and issuing BTC NFT versions of Mimic Shhans.

November 19, 2023, Shan MMSS tokens have been distributed.

However, due to SHAN’s lack of understanding of BRC-20, the engraving quantity was set to 20 coins per sheet.

The token was distributed by SHANS, and the name and original image come from Mimic Shhans, but SHANS has repeatedly reiterated that it does not hold too many MMSS tokens and has no intention of operating itself, hoping to operate a decentralized community for MMSS.

Some users raised concerns about excessive quantities, and SHAN apologized:

With a total of 21 million coins and 20 coins per piece, approximately 1.05 million pieces were needed to complete the minting process.

Due to the high Bitcoin network fees at the time of SHAN’s announcement, the cost per piece was around $8-9 USD.

This resulted in nearly tens of millions of dollars being spent to complete the piece.

SHAN’s approach and community response

This was presented as a test of community consensus and enthusiasm for MMSS.

After SHAN deployed the MMSS, some Mimic Shhans community members began learning BRC-20 engraving methods despite having no prior exposure to the field.

Progress reached 10% within 5 hours of deployment.

Due to high Bitcoin network fees that day, the cost of the piece was close to $1 million.

SHHAN also released supporting images for Mimic Shhans and Rudolph.

The entire piece was completed at 5 a.m. on November 24, with a total cost of approximately $6 million.

MMSS decentralized community

The tokens were distributed by SHANS and the name and original image came from Mimic Shhans, but SHANS has reiterated several times that it does not have many MMSS tokens.

They hoped to run a decentralized community for MMSS, with no intention of running it themselves.

This stems from SHAN’s desire to focus solely on Mimic Shhans’ NFT series due to disputes within the black cat community regarding its operations and finances last year.

SHAN expressed it this way:

“MMSS development will be entirely community-driven, and I will participate as a member of the community.”

MMSS has achieved a “decentralization of project parties” approach, allowing the community to determine the development strategy.

Currently popular BRC-20 tokens mainly consist of pure MEME and utility tokens.

Previously, social media platforms were flooded with rat concept image promotions during peak rat season.

MMSS also plans to base its operations on the image concept of the black cat, but with a greater emphasis on artistic creativity and integration with real-life scenarios.

The future and challenges of MMSS

It is reported that MMSS’ future development plans include a creator platform centered on Black Cat, Black Cat IP guarantors and image ambassadors, application development, and ecosystem training across four modules.
