LINE NEXT, a venture focused on growing LINE’s Web3 ecosystem, has announced plans to launch a collection of ‘Mini dApps’ and a Dapp Portal in the first quarter of 2025 in collaboration with the Kaia DLT Foundation. For user accessibility, the portal is directly integrated into LINE messenger.
LINE NEXT CEO Ko Young-soo said in a written statement, “LINE NEXT has aimed to increase accessibility to Web3 services from the perspectives of both Internet and Web3 users and developers. He added, “In particular, we plan to introduce the largest number of Web3 dApps and expand the user base in major Line Messenger countries such as Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan.”
Line NEXT collaborated with the Kaia Foundation to select 30 mini dApp projects through the Kaia Wave program to support Web3 developers and introduce Kaia-based dApps to LINE Messenger. The Kaia Wave program aims to support global Web3 developers within the Kaia ecosystem. Since opening last September, 800 teams have applied, and 30 teams have been selected through the first round of screening.
LINE NEXT and Kaia plan to select more than 150 teams in the first half of next year, and plan to select more teams in the future. Each selected team will be provided with a software development kit (SDK) designed for creating Kaia-based dApps, along with a variety of support programs. This includes commission delegation, joint marketing plans and a wide range of investment opportunities offered by Kaia Wave. This support will allow developers to create mini dApps that can be integrated directly into LINE Messenger or launched on LINE NEXT’s Dapp portal starting in the first quarter of 2025.

The Dapp Portal allows users to search, download, and use dApps directly from LINE Messenger. Additionally, users can receive rewards for participating in the service and trade virtual assets within the platform. LINE NEXT aims to provide a seamless Web3 experience with a focus on removing barriers with user-friendly and accessible services through Mini dApps and Dapp Portals.
LINE NEXT also introduced SDK, a developer platform that simplifies the creation and deployment of Mini dApps based on the Kaia chain. LINE NEXT’s goal is to promote widespread adoption of Web3 services by supporting developers selected by Kaia Wave and other developers seeking to create Web3 applications.
