Launch of Meta Quest for Business

MetaQuest for Business has been released. Following a series of reveals last month, the Menlo Park-based company has officially launched its enterprise-grade XR device management and deployment hub.

The platform is a subscription service that supports enterprise end users utilizing Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro devices. Meta Quest for Business also helps clients deploy devices and applications across their teams.

Enterprise end users in supported regions, including the US and UK, can sign up for Meta Quest for Business now. Meta also offers Shared Mode and Support Plus as additional features of the service. Meta is also offering a 30-day trial for potential customers.

Additionally, for customers who purchase the shared mode feature, Meta Quest for Business does not require meta accounts for employees to participate. This has been a long-standing concern for Meta as it enters the digital business solutions landscape.

Meta Quest for Business comes as a partial revamp following the company’s long-ago offering of a VR headset subscription service for businesses closer to the Occulus era.

Meta Quest for Business: What’s New

The enhanced service offers more ways to manage XR workspace devices. Meta gathers many of its service tools in its admin portal, allowing teams to assign Meta headsets to active subscriptions.

Once devices are connected to the Meta Quest for Business hub, team leaders can manage and maintain them. Team leaders can also assign Meta Quest devices with individual business add-ons.

Using the management portal, Meta Quest for Business provides a team management hub where leaders can assign accounts and devices along with additional automation tools to streamline the process.

Meta Quest for Business is also built-in. An MDM solution that gives team leaders direct control over a fleet of headsets. Again, the management portal allows team leaders to leverage MDM capabilities to set up bulk provisioning, assign profiles, review device status, configure WiFi support, reset PIN access, remotely wipe devices, and more.

The built-in MDM solution gives you access to a small lineup of third-party XR MDM service providers, including Invanti, VMware Workspace ONE, and Microsoft Intune.

Meta Quest for Business also enables team leaders to manage XR application and software deployments.

Meta Quest for Business provides administrator control over how Quest headsets access applications, whether to deploy applications privately to a small group of users or publicly for broad deployment. Application management services simplify immersive application deployment by eliminating the need to access a device’s store to download applications individually.

Additional services available through Meta Quest for Business

In addition to the core services that make up the Meta Quest for Business subscription plan, Meta also offers additional features that customers must pay for separately to enhance the platform.

Meta Quest for Business’s shared mode provides customers with an additional level of control. Team leaders can assign shared mode to individual headsets that can be used regularly by multiple workers.

Additional features provide personalization and coordination for ongoing transitions between workers. In particular, shared mode eliminates the need for meta accounts and allows team leaders to set up broader verification for a more consistent experience across users.

Meta and enterprise, long-term goals?

The revamp of Meta’s enterprise suite comes as the company sets its sights on delivering the future of work.
