Magic, stories, music. Carpet Rides and Genies. October 2 – 8
Stories: A timeless knowledge sharing tool, from cavemen’s ‘Survival 101’ to today’s ‘Culture for Beginners’. They kept early humans alive, shared values, and even hosted campfire karaoke bars. Today it is a time capsule filled with wisdom that connects the past and the present and shapes our history and future. Did you talk to your friend today and tell him about something interesting you did yesterday? congratulations. This is how we use storytelling every day of our lives, regardless of language, culture, or location. We all do that. We all tell stories in our own way.
So if you ever doubt the power of storytelling, remember that storytelling is the original social network! October 2-8 will be Storytelling Week, and we invite you to join us for community events celebrating the stories of authors, books, movies, and games. If you’re inspired, you may be invited to join us in creating a story or share your own.
