Hashgraph Labs India joins NASSCOM: What does it entail?

Hashgraph Labs India, the India-based subsidiary of the Swiss Hashgraph Group, has become an official member of NASSCOM.

India joining NASSCOM could open new avenues for Hedera adoption in India. AR Rahaman’s Secret Mountain project is already utilizing Hedera, and OpenAI is also participating in some way.

This membership places Hashgraph Labs India at the heart of the country’s technology and policy ecosystem where key decisions on digital transformation and corporate innovation are made.

NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) is India’s premier technology industry body and chamber of commerce.

NASSCOM represents India’s $283 billion technology sector, encompassing IT services, software, diverse startups, global competency centers, and emerging technologies such as blockchain.

NASSCOM plays a key role in policy advocacy, industry standards, and corporate collaboration on emerging technologies, helping to position India as an international hub for digital infrastructure.

While in India, Vignesh Raja of the Hedera Foundation attended a conference at Secret Mountain, the music project of AR Rahman, one of India’s biggest musicians, as did Sam Altman of OpenAI.

The conference took place at OpenAI’s San Francisco headquarters in July 2025, and many spectators are still waiting for more definitive and concrete news about what Hedera’s Secret Mountain actually entails.

Implications for the introduction of Hedera in India

Membership in NASSCOM gives Hashgraph Labs India direct access to connections between businesses, policymakers and technology leaders based in the region.

Connectivity through NASSCOM creates a powerful channel to advance enterprise-grade Web3 and distributed ledger solutions built on Hedera into a regulated environment.

In the Hashgraph group:

As part of NASSCOM, we look forward to contributing to technology programs, strategic forums, GCC roundtables, policy advocacy, enterprise use cases, engineering talent and supporting the growth of India’s digital infrastructure.

The NASSCOM-led program will explore Hedera use cases across a variety of services, including healthcare, supply chain, and payments.

As India continues to emerge as one of the world’s largest technology markets, this partnership will enable Hashgraph Labs India to influence how distributed ledger technology can be adopted at scale in the region.

Working within NASSCOM’s ecosystem, Hashgraph can be better positioned to support India’s growing blockchain adoption and become a great foundational infrastructure for next-generation enterprise systems.
