Google has introduced a new feature that allows users to search blockchain data across a variety of networks, including Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, Polygon, and Fantom. This expansion allows users to search for wallet addresses and view balances directly within Google search results.
When a user enters their wallet address, Google will display the token balance remaining in the wallet for each supported network, along with a timestamp indicating when the balance was last updated. It is important to note that the balance only shows the native tokens of each network and that the balance shown reflects the state of the wallet at the time of the last external transaction. Balance updates are not instantaneous.
This latest update builds on Google’s previous support for Ethereum wallet balance searches starting last May. Initially, Google allowed users to search for specific public addresses on the Ethereum network and view their wallet balances directly in the search results. Additionally, earlier this month, Google began showing search results for wallet balance when users search for Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains. ENS provides a readable domain name for your Ethereum wallet address, making it easier to identify and navigate within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Google’s expansion of its wallet address search functionality reflects growing interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Google is helping to increase accessibility and transparency within the cryptocurrency space by giving users easy access to blockchain data directly through its search engine.
