Discovery Grid will be hosting its 7th Anniversary Party on Saturday, July 1st in the Louisville area. The virtual Thunder Over Discovery 2023 aviation event will run concurrently with the actual Thunder Over Louisville aircraft event and will feature vintage and modern aircraft in action.
Both grid residents and hypergrid visitors are invited to join the experience. Hypergrid address is discoverygrid.net:8002:Louisville.
Please arrive early for each session as the gates will be closed to prevent any disruption as people enter the area. You’ll also need to set up the OpenSim viewer as a shared environment, enable advanced lighting for the full effect, and set the viewer camera and music and sound settings as suggested by the hosts here. flying aircraft.
Two Thunder Over Discovery show sessions are planned, one starting at 2pm Pacific Time to accommodate Eurozone residents and visitors on the grid. The other opens at 6 PM Pacific Time and is aimed at residents and visitors from the grid’s North and South American regions.
Each aircraft show session is preceded by an hour of DJ music. The first music session will be hosted by DJ Calliope Angel at Club Thunder from 2-3 PM and the second music session will be hosted by DJ Jack Stone from 6-7 PM PT. location. These two music sessions feature thunderous music, dance and light shows along the Discovery Grid.
Two DJ music sessions will be followed by a 15-minute puddle jumper vintage airplane wingwalk acrobatics and skydiving air show, followed by a 5-minute F-22 maneuver, followed by precision acrobatics and formation flying performances. 20 minutes of Blue Angels. All come with surround sound.
The PyroVR company then concludes each of the two flight sessions with a 20-minute pyrotechnic musical fireworks display. Fireworks will be synchronized to a music soundtrack, and new custom effects will be added this year. Wear headphones or connect to a surround sound system and select the sound HUD to enjoy an accurate 3D audio mix.
