Cryptocurrency asset outflow continues, XRP still positive

New data from CoinShares shows that digital asset investment products saw outflows of $288 million last week, the fifth consecutive week of declines, according to James Butterfill.

The total cumulative outflow reached $4 billion, but this is less than $6 billion in 2025, the same period last year.

Despite the outflows, Ripple’s XRP and Solana continue to see positive inflows of millions of dollars, indicating strong interest among institutional investors amid market turmoil.

Despite Bitcoin downturn, altcoins show positive inflows

Trading volumes also fell significantly, falling to $17 billion, the lowest level since July 2025, reflecting weaker investor participation.

Regional conflict is still evident. The United States recorded outflows of $347 million, indicating continued negative sentiment among American investors.

In contrast, Europe and Canada recorded inflows totaling $59 million, with Switzerland, Canada and Germany leading the purchasing activity. This suggests that international investors see recent market weakness as an investment opportunity.

Bitcoin led most of the decline, recording $215 million in outflows. Ethereum recorded withdrawals of $36.5 million, while short Bitcoin products recorded inflows of $5.5 million, indicating that some traders are expecting further declines.

XRP shows its relative strength

Among altcoins, XRP stood out with $3.5 million in inflows, while Solana and Chainlink earned smaller gains. The positive inflows of XRP, albeit modest, walk a different line compared to the broader multi-asset outflows.

As market conditions improve and the XRP ETF is in full swing, XRP could be well-positioned for stronger upside or a return to new highs.

Ripple’s acquisitions of Hidden Road and Gtreasury expand its institutional liquidity, custody, and treasury management capabilities, potentially increasing demand across the Ripple ecosystem.

These developments combined with RLUSD stablecoin growth could provide a more fundamental driver for XRP in the next bull cycle.
