Crypto fitness app STEPN collaborates with Adidas to launch 1,000 NFT collection 'STEPN x Adidas Genesis Sneakers'

STEPN (GMT), a Solana-based smartphone application that lets you earn rewards for activities such as walking, jogging, and running, has announced a partnership with sportswear and footwear company Adidas. Together, they will be releasing a limited collection of 1,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) titled “STEPN x Adidas Genesis sneakers.”

These NFTs will be issued on the Solana blockchain and will be available for purchase on NFT marketplace Mooar starting April 17th. Each NFT is priced in units of 10,000 STEPN's native GMT tokens.

Collections will be distributed in two stages through a lottery system. The initial phase of NFT sales will begin on April 17, with 200 NFTs earmarked for the most dedicated users. The second phase will then feature a public drawing from April 18 to April 21, during which the remaining 790 NFTs will be released to the public.

Priority will be given to FSL community members from Adidas and STEPN, with exclusive access on day one through whitelisting. This list includes holders of Alts of the Adidas NFT, holders of OG and Genesis, holders of STEPN's “Effective Mover 6” badge, holders of MOOAR membership level 5 or higher, and anyone who holds the Gas Hero Badge or Genesis holder status. Prospective participants are encouraged to register an account with STEPN via email before April 16th.

This collaboration with Adidas marks STEPN's second partnership with a footwear company, following a collaboration with Asics in 2022. Shiti Manghani, CEO of STEPN, emphasized the importance of this partnership, describing it as a convergence of the physical and digital realms, often referred to as “phygital.” Collaborations between popular lifestyle applications like STEPN and global brands like Adidas signify an evolving landscape of lifestyle rewards, according to Shiti Manghani.

Recently, STEPN distributed bonus points worth a cumulative $30 million in the form of GMT tokens to the community through an airdrop conducted last week.
