Hoskinson Reaffirms Disdain for XRP Community
In a recent statement, Charles Hoskinson, founder of the Cardano blockchain platform, reaffirmed his negative stance towards the XRP community. Known for his outspokenness, Hoskinson has long been critical of Ripple and its community.
A year ago, Hoskinson made headlines when he described the XRP community as “toxic and petty” and said he preferred to distance himself from it. His comments also hinted at a reluctance to pursue a partnership or technological integration between Cardano and XRP. Despite attempts by Ripple’s David Schwartz to intervene, Hoskinson’s position remained unchanged.
Fast forward to today and Hoskinson’s views show no signs of softening. He cited “being harassed daily by the community for two years” for his stance and fundamental differences in the technical goals of Cardano and XRP. Unlike Ripple, which is tailored to a specific purpose, Hoskinson points out that Cardano aims to solve a broader problem, along with other projects such as Tezos, Algorand, Polkadot, and Ethereum.
In addition to his criticism, Hoskinson also addressed conspiracy theories circulating within the XRP community. These theories are often associated with Ethereum, suggesting that it has received preferential treatment from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Hoskinson distinguishes between mere speculation and the possibility of Ethereum-related entities influencing the SEC’s action on XRP.
Hoskinson’s stance reflects his personal experience and insight, while also highlighting the divisive and competitive nature of the blockchain industry.
