This initiative is notable as it marks the first time the Science Museum has launched an experience since the launch of the Roblox Community Fund (RCF) in November 2021. With an initial gift of $10 million, RCF will support educational institutions to create innovative and engaging creative activities. Learning experience at Roblox. Using this opportunity, the Science Museum is working to build greater equity in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

Immersive Mars Exploration

The ‘Mission: Mars’ experience provides a digital learning environment aligned to science standards. Participants will be immersed in a simulated Mars exploration by completing tasks such as navigating a state-of-the-art Mars rover, performing level-based missions, finding evidence of water, collecting ice samples, and rescuing fellow explorers. The experience also includes a creative element where players design and build their own vehicles to earn experience points and rewards.

“Museums entering the metaverse will allow them to reach 100 million people in museums, classrooms and online by 2030, breaking down barriers to participation and creating greater equity,” said Tim Ritchie, director of the Museum of Science. “It’s part of our desire to do that,” he said, expressing the museum’s broader ambitions. When it comes to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, it’s not enough for museums to become the most popular destination for families in New England and share hands-on curriculum with educators and millions of students around the world. We also want to dive into the metaverse and meet students at the top of their game. -Quality STEM content.”
