In 2021, we launched Ronin to help Axie spread her wings. Together, Axie and Ronin defined an entire industry. Today, that bond is growing stronger. Axie Infinity will earn a significant portion of its RON rewards from Ronin’s Proof of Distribution rewards system. 100% of these rewards will go to Axie Treasury. The current situation is as follows:
Ronin’s reward system will change starting May 12th. Instead of spreading out staking rewards to a large number of users, Ronin redirects concentrated RON waterfalls to the top builders on the network. This also includes Axie.
Rewards are distributed monthly and are based on builder scores that capture on-chain data from the previous month. NFT volume, DEX volume, gas spending, and other metrics will determine the amount of rewards each team can earn. According to internal estimates, Axie can earn up to 200,000 RON per month. We decided to send all these rewards to Axie Treasury. This means your on-chain activity will make Lunacia stronger.
Note: In the future, we may redirect Axie’s RON rewards in other ways that benefit Lunacia. Please let me know if you have any ideas. This is just the beginning.
Axie is at the center of Ronin’s on-chain activity. Most of Axie’s builder points are mapped to things Lunacians already do every day, including market trading, katana trading, breeding, forging, ascension, evolution, and minting runes and charms. Any wallet holding more than 10 RON and associated with an Axie contract is also important.
This is how the Axie economy has always operated. With the same activities that keep Lunacia ticking, Axie now earns monthly RON shares just by attending.
No action is required yet. Sky Mavis reviews its builder score calculations every month based on builder and user feedback, while also considering how to best grow the Ronin ecosystem.
