Peuxswau is back, creating an homage with SL artists difficult riddle. They reinvented themselves. the photo he took Guy Bourdine Photo SL Tribute1984 Vogue. (see right)

As you can see, while Peuxswau is a huge homage, Hard Conundrum uses this idea as a springboard for much more abstract pop imagery.

But she loves the graphic power of pop art. I’ve featured both in the past. For Peuxswau click here. Click here to see the difficult riddle..

More about Bourdin from his Wikipedia:

Guy Bourdin was one of the first to imagine fashion photography as involving captivating narratives, dramatic effects through intense color saturation, surrealism and cropped compositions, and established the idea that the product was secondary to the image. Bourdain’s photographs, while often highly sensual, rely heavily on their ability to provoke and shock. Bourdain created a completely new visual vocabulary that could be associated with haute couture products. The narrative was strange and mysterious, inspired by literature, film, and art history.

(pda) guy bourdain

One of the striking features of many of Bourdain’s images is the highly stylized pose in which the model stands. In 2009, a poser created several poses from his work. But her most recent photos were taken in 2012 and they are not on the Marketplace, so I don’t suggest looking for them. I included the photo to show that there have been Bourdain fans in SL for a while.

Guy Bourdine SL Tribute

Myra Wildmist created “Flipped Out,” a clever riff on Bourdin’s love. Show only part of the model’s body, Often in strange situations. The inverted bridge certainly fits the requirements. me too We introduced Wildmist a while ago.

I love when people pay homage to the great artists and photographers of the past. It’s very interesting to see their work recreated in Second Life. I think Peuxswau is the queen of artistic homage and I love that she has done some collaborations. Who else pays homage to artists of the past?
