Welcome to Atia's Lab Log 2026 #1!
Before we dive in, a quick note on the nature of these updates:
The status updates mentioned below represent our current internal development. Some are being prepped for production, while others are in a "prototype state," meaning we are still evaluating their feasibility. These are by no means a commitment to a specific release schedule (or a release at all). Our priority is ensuring that only the most stable and impactful ideas make it into the final product.
Exploration Notes – Atia’s Legacy
Deep in the dungeon, a huge Lunid began to move… We have successfully integrated the core logic and animations into our current build. We want to provide new and powerful challenges to combat. but… This isn’t just a new fight. It’s part of an effort to connect gameplay directly with lore. axi core.

To help overcome recurring threats (yes, on a smaller scale). chives), we are updating our existing arsenal. All original weapons now have new base attacks and improved ultimates.
Original Weapon:
• cannon
• bow down
• employee
• Gauntlets
• ax
• knife
Weapons in the works:
• dagger
• Talisman
• flute
• book
• Lantern

One particular ninja-esque weapon looks incredibly cool, but it’s currently causing some… creative problems. Our testers kept accidentally teleporting themselves off the map, so we’re staying in the containment area until everyone’s feet can touch solid ground.
One of our biggest structural experiments was solo battle.
The squad system had its fans, 34.3% Request for Lunacians from Playtest 1 more Depth of combat. Focusing on a single axis opens up a much more competitive and skill-based experience, as players have requested. This also allows you to add new mechanisms like ”.dash,’ can be easily dodged or repositioned (new for all Axies).
These ideas don’t just come from teams. They come from fellow Lunacians:
“What concerns me is that this squad style might prevent players from working together to accomplish things in the game. My ideal MMO would be one where players are forced to work together to get through difficult bosses or dungeons, rather than a game where players can do everything in solo play.” -Mr. Ken
“It’s a very good system, but it’s hard to control all axes being hit. This can be problematic when there are harder bosses with a 1-hit course and need to be avoidable. I think the combat system should be modified to use a single axis instead and build gear around that axis.” – Mugetta
This new system allows any axie to become a leader and no longer forces users to use Tripp. This also ties directly into testing new mods.
-
Test Mode #1: PvP Battle Although it’s still in early development, we have a version ready to be tested internally with the intention of adding it to the next public release.
-
Test Mode #2: We are experimenting with a mode where there is a possibility of losing items (and Axie) upon death. This is a “risk-return” experiment designed to see how higher stakes can create a more meaningful and healthy economy. There were a few backend blocking issues that arose from there, but with a fresh perspective from the development team, the way forward was finally clear. We just need more time to lab.
Navigation Notes — App.axie
The core of the new system is Combined AXS (bAXS) Smart contract. We are currently in a rigorous security audit and in-depth testing phase to ensure everything is perfect. Behind the scenes, the token logic is being codified into a comprehensive technical master document.
This covers the entire life cycle of the token.
-
How to handle swaps, staking, and spending.
-
A new contract that interacts directly with these assets.
-
Rounding out transaction flows to ensure the economy remains circular and robust.

We have been testing the system for several weeks, simulating the use of bAXS for the evolution, ascension, propagation and restoration of Atia’s Blessing Streaks. One of our most intensive internal tests at the moment involves the logic of casting runes and talismans using bAXS.

In addition to Axie Core and gameplay testing, we are also validating dynamic exchange rates for the bAXS → AXS swap. It is also important to emphasize that we are making sure that the system calculates conversions between assignments accurately, and with bAXS you get a 1:1 ratio right out of the box. This means you can get maximum value from bAXS!

As testing continues, we are also looking at the broader user experience.
With bAXS Live, our next challenge is to create a clear path for users to expand their scope of specifications. We have already designed a visual progress bar to track the journey towards the next step. However, our priority is to ensure that our core staking system is flawless and highly performing from day one. Staking is the pillar that supports everything else, so we moved the visual bar to the backlog to focus resources on that foundation first.

Now to the point bAXS → AXS exchange rate settingsWe focused on tailoring the specific benefits of each tier. We’re shaping the experience to make sure the climb happens. Lunasian to myth keeper It feels impactful and rewarding.
Once these systems come online, Axie Infinity’s diverse experiences will begin to ripple out at varying rates.
Axie Infinity is evolving, and we’re excited for every Lunacian to join us on this journey!
