Amid the news of Solana’s BONK memecoin listing, Revolut is planning to launch a new cryptocurrency exchange.

UK-based digital bank Revolut is preparing to introduce broader cryptocurrency exchange services, according to a February 16 Coindesk report.

The report cites an email sent to a UK customer describing a “new cryptocurrency exchange built with advanced traders in mind.” The email also promised that the exchange would offer “more in-depth analytics tools and lower fees” than Revolut’s main app.

It is known that the commission is set between 0% and 0.09%, and the cost is not included in limit price orders. It’s unclear whether these rates will apply to future or current services, as those numbers appear to account for Revolut’s modern maker and taker fees.

Another page suggests that Revolut charges a single flat fee for cryptocurrency conversions, between 0.99% and 1.99%, depending on the plan.

The latest development marks the growth of Revolut’s cryptocurrency offering following previous cuts. Revolut reduced access to cryptocurrency services for UK businesses in December 2023 and suspended access to cryptocurrency services in the US in August 2023 due to regulatory developments in both jurisdictions.

Revolut may list Solana’s BONK memecoin.

There is also speculation that Revolut will list Solana-based memecoin BONK as part of the partnership. This includes a $1.2 million “Learn and Earn” campaign.

This news is supported by a recent offering from the BONK community that describes a partnership with “one of Europe’s largest fintech companies” without specifically mentioning Revolut. But the proposal also outlines partner companies that serve 38 million customers in more than 50 countries covered by Revolut.

It’s unclear whether the anticipated BONK partnership will extend to Revolut’s current cryptocurrency services or be limited to its upcoming premium exchange.

BONK experienced a significant surge in value in December 2023, reaching a new all-time high. However, Mimcoin has since lost most of its gains and is currently down 62% from its December 15th ATH.

BONK has been criticized for its highly centralized supply and lack of whitepaper. Nonetheless, it obtained listings on popular exchanges such as Binance. coinbase.
