last week, shade, location 2and JaseTheWizard Hosted a fireside chat Join the Axie community. They answered live questions while discussing Axie Core, Atia’s Legacy, collectible utilities, Codex, and more. Here’s a summary of that conversation:

The highlight of the AMA was the full reveal of the codex. Remember: this town hall was held before the Codex was released! Shade shared a testnet demo and answered questions from the audience. Here are the key points:

  • Codex is App.axie’s new battle pass system.

  • Anyone can unlock higher tier rewards by purchasing the Premier Path for 7.5 AXS.

  • Earn bounty points in the daily bounties tab (no longer SBB or PBB)

  • Accumulate new Codex Points to earn AXS, exclusive accessories, lucky coins, and more

The first season of Codex is called The Ascendant Path. Players must reach 500 Codex points to unlock the first reward, and 25,000 Codex points to obtain all available rewards. Pro Tip: You can use Fortune Slip to reroll your daily bounty. Fortune Slips and collectible axes continue to play an important role in the Axie Core economy.

The season is scheduled to last a total of 8 weeks. The Axie team is treating this like a real experiment and plans to iterate on tuning, speed, balance, and economics.

All Codex participants will receive bounty board points. Here are some claimable bonuses that will increase your leaderboard total and count towards your weekly score:

In addition to that, Premier Path buyers also get:

  • Up to 6.5AXS Reach level 24 (giving you 7.5 AXS means you’ll only “use” 1 AXS for the premium tier)

  • Up to 4 exclusive accessories Levels 5, 10, 25, 30 (Flower jar, festival crackers, Atia’s doll, and fossil guard).

  • lucky coin Take on the Ascendant Wellspring, a seasonal gacha machine featuring four additional limited-edition accessories not available anywhere else.

  • Seasonal Hangouts Banners At level 20.

After level 30, players can continue to level up and earn additional Lucky Coins up to level 50. When you reach level 50 Codex of (Season 0) — These are tradable “badges of honor” that serve as collectible milestones now but can be used later.

“Right now it’s just something to brag about,” Shade explained. “But who knows? It might turn into something later.”

To summarize the new system, Shade provided a clear analysis:

Several community members have raised concerns about the 15% increase in Fortune Slip supply and its potential inflationary effects. Shade confirmed that no new burn mechanics will be introduced this season, but the team is watching the economy closely.

He then emphasized, “That’s why it’s season 0.” “We are testing the progress, the pace, the economic impact. If adjustments need to be made, we will make them.”

He also clarified that while participation fees will help subsidize the rewards pool, any excess rewards will be sourced from the Play-to-Earn fund to maintain economic balance in the system.

Shade explained that the team now has a streamlined process for creating new accessories. This is part of an effort to make axies feel more personal again.

“Everyone’s axles look the same. The accessories were meant to be unique. We’re finally doubling down on that.”

Discussions are already underway about accessory utilities within Axie Core and Atia’s Legacy. Accessories may one day look like this:

Axie Quest also got some attention. This is a great example of a game that integrates accessories with in-game bonuses.

Players asked what happens after they reach their current state. level 60 cap. Shade confirmed that simply raising the cap is not ideal as it risks grinding fatigue and imbalance. Instead, several ideas are being explored.

  • prestige systemanalogy call of dutyThis is where players reset their levels for special recognition.

  • Stage 3 parts evolutionIt has to do with future lore and gameplay.

  • Share AXPYou can save or share Axies’ XP that has exceeded the maximum.

“Imagine connecting two Axies via an accessory so that one shares XP with the other,” Shade said. “Similar to Pokémon’s AXP Share, but on-chain.”

Shade and Pos2 have confirmed that major development has fully shifted to Atia’s Legacy, an upcoming MMO that will integrate the Axie Core system.

Origins and Classic will continue to operate with occasional rewards or balance adjustments, but no major updates are planned.

“We are 100% focused on Atia’s Legacy,” pos2 said. “That’s the future of Axie.”

One of the most discussed topics came from community collector Kyroh, who asked about the declining value of Mystic and Origin Axies. Shade explained. The collection is currently diluted. Due to oversupply and lack of gameplay integration, a long-term solution is in the works.

  • Atia’s Legacy You can introduce unique areas, interactions, and gameplay experiences specific to specific collectibles.

  • axi core We’re continuing to build on the basic systems – Fortune Slips, Coco, XP, breeding, etc. – to create intrinsic utility.

  • Merchandise, dolls and physical initiatives It will further strengthen the collector’s identity.

“Atia’s Legacy is more social than Origins,” Shade said. “It gives us a space to make collectible axes feel really special again.”

The discussion turned to Land gameplay, with community members expressing frustration that it felt passive and “like a chore.” Shade agreed that the current Land mechanic mostly operates as an AXS faucet.

He outlined plans to reintegrate Land into Axie Core and eventually Atia’s Legacy, potentially tying it into guild mechanics and social gameplay.

  • PBB Flexibility: The community suggested exploring a flexible bounty system that could accommodate players in areas with unreliable internet or power (e.g. “best 5 out of 7” scores).

  • Secret Class Parts: Although complicated by the 3D modeling of Atia’s Legacy, it is still being planned (for Mech, Dawn, and Dusk).

  • Knowledge Integration: Future Codex seasons will include story chapters that unlock as players progress, linking directly to Atia’s Legacy quests and NPCs.

  • Governance Quest: Bounty boards can host governance-related missions to increase participation.

The team thanked everyone who participated in the AMA and shared their thoughts. The next AMA will feature a deep cruise dive into Atia’s Legacy, its gameplay foundation, and how it’s put together with the Axie experience.

with Codex Season 0 In this upcoming AMA, one thing becomes clear: Axie Infinity is entering a new chapter focused on experimentation, transparency, and rebuilding the magic that made Axie special.
