The Nyft team previously developed the platform for nearly three years. Free open beta released Anyone can try it on January 17, 2024.

Nifty Island’s P2A campaign is an opportunity to participate in the platform and earn $ISLAND in the project’s future token distribution. It’s designed to be fun rather than hard work, and rewards genuine play and social sharing.

The most important factors to keep in mind here are:

• 🫂 Play socially — Earn more points by inviting friends. You can share a link to your island on social media and earn points when other players join games you host.

Specifically, Nifty Island allows users to: Upload your own 3D assetsFrom avatars to furniture, with currently supported FBX Binary, glTF and glb file formats.

But if you want to plug and go, you’re in luck, as the platform already offers support for avatars from over 180 partner collections, including Azuki, Bored Apes, Cool Cats, Pudgy Penguins, and more.

If this is your first time visiting Nifty Island, you’ll need to set up an account before taking on quests and customizing your island. The steps to get started are simple.

1. movement niftyisland.com

2. Tap “Log in” and log in with your preferred wallet or social account.

3. Create an account by selecting your username and region

4. By signing the transaction shown, you agree to the platform’s Terms of Service.

5. Once you enter the welcome page, you can go deeper to add more wallets, follow other players, customize your profile, and more.

Once everything is as you wish, you are ready to start playing. At this point:

1. movement niftyisland.com/play

2. Press “Start Game”. If the game client doesn’t load automatically, you’ll have the option to download the launcher to your desktop (Windows and Mac supported).

3. With the launcher turned on, press ‘Log in’.

4. Press “Play” and complete the tutorial levels to learn the controls and earn your first Bloom.

5. After completing the tutorial, you can choose your avatar, customize and explore the island, or go to another island and try out different match types. For a complete list of community-created islands, see this dashboard.

There’s a lot to like about the Nifty Island beta. Here are a few things that stand out on early play:

• It’s really fun to be able to bring some of my favorite NFTs to life in the virtual world and easily play the same actions with others in multiple game modes.

• The onboarding and gameplay experience felt seamless. I didn’t encounter any issues downloading the launcher or navigating to my first island, and the game modes were easy to learn.

• The Nifty Island Marketplace provides a great way for 3D artists to monetize their creations, and island customization is a cool way for players to express themselves and attract more players for Bloom rewards.

• The P2A campaign and Blooms feel secondary and supportive to the gameplay, rather than the other way around. This is a good thing. The game is fun in and of itself, and the rewards make play that much more sticky.

• It’s been great to see people streaming matches and quest sessions, and getting deep into customizing their islands. The real fun and excitement you want to see unfolds before your eyes.

Nifty Island’s beta is the latest demonstration of how NFTs can be enabled for new kinds of experiences and don’t have to exist as static images on the blockchain.

Additionally, while airdrop hunting in other areas like DeFi can feel like hard work, scoring Blooms and $ISLAND on Nifty Island feels like really fun gameplay. Even without token incentives, people can enjoy Nifty Island, so the fact that there are incentives provides a cool way to earn airdrops in the future.

I think the platform is a no-brainer. Have fun, express yourself, and get airdrops. I think it’s good!

As of now, there is no official word on how long the P2A campaign will last or when $ISLAND will be released. In the meantime, have fun exploring around Nifty Island a little bit each day and consider maximizing your $ISLAND airdrop eligibility. This is not an opportunity where you have to think too hard, just have fun and eventually the chips will fall where they may.
