On January 11, Socrates will transform its community engagement model by upgrading all existing SBT pens to the innovative Pioneer Pen, an NFT based on the ERC-721 standard. This move marks a shift from the current ERC-1155 standard to embracing the uniqueness and tradability that NFTs offer. Each Pioneer pen is designed to be as unique as its owner, encouraging users to think outside the box and express personal insights. Starting January 12th, you will be able to purchase and trade this pen on the Socrates in-app trading market.

What is a Pioneer Pen?
Pioneer Pens are more than just game keys. Carefully crafted tools that open up a world of possibilities and enhance your gaming experience with richer, more diverse ways to engage. Like the original SBT pens, Pioneer pens are categorized into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each level has its own voting coefficient (votes per cast) and reward coefficient (bonus distribution percentage), with higher pen levels providing greater benefits. However, unlike SBT pens, which are based on the ERC-1155 standard and are non-tradable, Pioneer pens are tradable and each pen boasts unique properties. Users can enhance these properties through various platform interactions to increase the intrinsic value of the pen.
These changes not only provide flexibility, but also lay the foundation for future improvements, promising additional features and properties incorporated into the Pioneer Pen. Users can utilize the unique features of the pens or combine pens of the same/different levels in various ways to create unique discussion-profit strategies. Tradeable and Upgradeable Pioneer Pens
Pioneer pens all vary in level, properties, and functions. Users can actively influence the originality and scarcity of the Pen by participating in platform activities. In the future, users will also be able to participate in various activities to form a pen, giving them additional permissions.
There are currently two ways to obtain the Pioneer Pen:
- Replacement: Existing users who already own an SBT pen in Socrates will automatically receive a Pioneer pen airdrop to their wallet address based on their level, and users do not need to take any action.
- Platform Buying and Trading: Users can buy and sell rare Pioneer pens of different levels through the in-app trading feature.
Beyond point and pen
This announcement is part of Socrates’ series of initiatives to build a 360° instant rewards ecosystem. Users have the opportunity to earn rewards through various interactions on the platform, including voting, commenting, liking, posting multiple choice questions, and showing support. On January 13, Socrates is excited to introduce a Pop Quiz feature that allows users to participate in questions from others in real time for short 30-minute sessions. The correct answer (determined by the question author) is revealed immediately. If correct, the contestant immediately receives the prize and the question is over, but if incorrect, the question author receives the contestant’s points.
