“The Warlords of Champions Tactics,” a collection of NFTs from Ubisoft related to the impending PC-based PVP tactics game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, has been released.
The collection surpassed $2 million in sales within hours of its public free mint release.
Contrary to assumption, The Warlords are not central characters in Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles.
The spotlight is on the Champions, each a unique magical doll endowed with a unique appearance and skills.
Players must strategically form a squad of three champions to navigate and counter the actions of their opponents in the dark world of Grimoria.
Owning one or more Warlords provides exclusive early access to Champion Statue drops, allowing players to create up to five champions for free.
Looking at OpenSea, out of 9,999 NFTs, only 11% are available for sale.
The reluctance to release them for sale, especially in the case of free mints, suggests that a significant portion of collectors are aiming to keep Warlords in the game to unlock subsequent free character mints.
Even though The Warlords NFT is Ethereum-based, Champions Tactics operates on the Ethereum-compatible Oasys chain.
The NFT series will consist of 9,999 units, of which 8,000 will be available through free minting, 1,000 will be allocated to the Oasys community, and Ubisoft will retain 999 for future marketing and NFT distribution plans.
Ubisoft is preparing to release Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles in 2024.
The game will be Ubisoft’s first Web3 game and was announced as part of the Oasys special event taking place in Japan as part of Japan Blockchain Week.
According to the official website, players can expect free champion figures to drop during the game’s launch, but details are lacking on this.
Prospective players should note that access to the game is restricted in several regions, including Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Burundi, China, Cuba, France, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, North Korea, Myanmar, Qatar, Russia, and Sudan. Be careful. , South Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Crimea, Sevastopol and the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
This isn’t Ubisoft’s first NFT drop.
Just two years ago, Paris-based Ubisoft launched its initial NFT through its Quartz platform.
These first-of-its-kind NFTs have been integrated into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint for Windows PC via the Ubisoft Connect platform.
