Security Alert: CertiK Reports Serious Vulnerability in OKX IOS App, Urges Immediate Update

Blockchain security company CertiK has sounded the alarm to iPhone users. greatIt called for an immediate update of the iOS application after discovering a serious security vulnerability in early December.

On December 19, CertiK sent an urgent warning to all OKX wallet users on iPhone through social media notifications, advising them to quickly update their iOS applications to the latest version. In immediate response to CertiK’s findings, OKX implemented the necessary fixes through a mandatory upgrade on December 19, directing users to install iOS version 6.45.0. CertiK has confirmed that the security issue has been resolved following this upgrade.

While resolving the issue, OKX emphasized that the vulnerability did not compromise customer assets. Remote code execution (RCE) vulnerabilities, such as those identified, can be exploited by attackers to execute unauthorized code on a network or system, potentially leading to a breach or theft of funds.

Recent Security Incidents

This incident follows recent security issues at OKX, most notably the $2.7 million hack of the OKX DEX on December 13. The breach was reportedly caused by the leak of the private keys of the proxy manager owner.
