
Google has updated its advertising policies for cryptocurrency and related products.
According to a company statement, Google will allow advertising of digital asset-related investment products, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs), starting January 29, 2024.
“In January 2024, Google will update its Cryptocurrency and Related Products Policy to clarify the scope and requirements for advertising of cryptocurrency coin trusts.”

Last September, Google also allowed blockchain-based game advertising using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The company classified it as a permitted game that allows players to purchase in-game items, particularly virtual costumes for characters or weapons. At the same time, advertising for games where players place bets containing NFTs in exchange for the chance to win something of real value, such as other tokens, is still prohibited.
