• June 2024: I paid tuition and scooters using the Philippines Peso.
• Today, 2025: I have become a creator of Ronin and fishing craze
Derek’s journey is deeper than in the game. He also built a new friendship with WEB3 gamers around the world. They shared their strategies together, celebrated each other’s victory, and developed deeper blockchain knowledge. Ronin’s mascot JIN sat with Derek and talked about it.
jin : Thank you for your time. Congratulations on a big victory, chef.
derrick: thank you! I’m happy here.
jin : Let’s start from the beginning. How did you join the Ronin movement?
derrick: of course. I started early in AXIE Infinity. Do you think you came back in 2021? I became a scholar and was making more money by playing games than regular workers. All of my friends were playing AXIE, and in my Philippines, it was a big deal. Since then, I have believed in the potential to change the lives of AXIE and Ronin. AXIE was a huge community introduction of Web3 and onChain gamers.
jin : How did you hear about pixels?
derrick: My brother told me about it. I just resigned at work and was waiting for the background. When I heard that there was a chance to get reward by playing the game, I remembered what it would look like in that early axis. So I started playing! Sometimes it is necessary for someone to board someone. I pay it and try to talk to my friends about what’s happening in Ronin.
jin : How much did you earn with pixels?
derrick: I got more than 6K $ pixel after the play Air drop campaign and continued to earn afterwards. jin : What are you doing in the Ronin ecosystem today?

jin : What advice would you give to a new player joining the Ronin Movement in 2025?
