Seven years ago, a ragtag group of missionaries founded a country called Lunasia. A nation with a vision for digital ownership and committed to making Web3 games as fun and accessible as possible.
Today we stand at the edge of an ever-growing frontier with a new sparkle in our eyes. We are ready for the new year. A new adventure. The victories of the past 12 months have put us in a strong position to soar together again.

The Axie ecosystem has seen continued growth over the past 365 days. Game DAA and MAA have steadily increased as bounty board participants have increased each month.
App.axie trading volume surpasses USD 30 million in 2024The surge was due to Coinbase’s Learn and Earn campaign.
The Premier Bounty Board and Wings of Nightmare releases spurred this trend to continue through H2.

Demand for Mystic axes also increased during that period. In January, when ETH price was around $2.3K USD, the lowest price remained at 4.4ETH and rose to 5.5ETH by the end of the year. It’s no secret that Mystic axies are the most coveted collectibles in Lunacia. At this time, holding one becomes a declaration, “I did it.”
Looking back, Lunasia’s 2024 looks like a stable staircase going up and to the right. But this has been a year full of significant events that have reshaped the Axie economy.
For example, Bounty Boards established a new way for the most dedicated missionaries to be rewarded. Wings of Nightmare has launched a whole new collection of axes, sparking a new interest in burning and breeding. The SLP monetary policy has also become a mechanism for managing players’ SLP-related costs.
These key moments drew new and returning players to Axie. We’ll zoom in on this in this section.
“Axie everyone together.” That was the headline we used for 2022 after upgrading our marketplace to a full app and our own website. Looking back in 2024, we’ve stayed true to that mission and even delivered some long-awaited features. In summary:
Wings of Nightmare was released last November. This was Axie Core’s biggest release since Part Evolution, which allowed 24 base parts to evolve into new Nightmare collectible parts. At the beginning of the year, we took on the challenge of rethinking how our community receives rewards. How do we honor our dedicated Lunacians beyond in-game leaderboard rewards, AXS staking rewards, and Axie Experience Points (AXP)? Answer: Bounty Board.
The first Bounty Board was released in April and began with a quest system that rewarded Lunasians for their good habits. Complete bounties and receive rewards. Axie Infinity introduced Web3 to millions of gamers a few years ago, utilizing an informal rental model that connected academics and administrators. The Academic page makes it easier than ever for players to match up with each other, and integrations are live across Origins, Classic, Homeland, and even the Bounty Board! Now anyone, anywhere can play with other Lunacian axes and lands.
Since the launch of Axie Infinity, we’ve had big ideas about how together we could build and improve an immersive game world within Lunacia. But making this idea a reality means getting everyone involved and making serious plans together. On May 17, 2024, the Axie Governance Portal was born on App.axie. This was more than just a new feature for tracking your Axie score. It was the culmination of years of hard work by countless Lunacians with a shared vision.
The first proposal passed after a national vote through the Axie governance portal. As a result, Axie community-based smart contract upgrade committee members can now approve and oversee future contract upgrades on behalf of the digital nation! Our flagship game has welcomed countless new and returning players over the past 12 months. The release of Guilds sparked a boom in Classic, Origins’ Meta Morph feature surprised many by sparking a massive rush to burn SLPs, and Homeland’s event flow kept Lunacians coming back for more. It’s been a great year for Axie players. There is so much to do and so many rewards. Let’s talk about it:
