This week ENGAGE, a provider of immersive collaboration services, announced version 3.10 of its flagship application, which allows professionals and classrooms to work together in a shared virtual space.
The new update is expected to improve AI integration, desktop control, and session access, including improved integration with Meta’s AI Llama framework.
In social media posts David Whelan, CEO of ENGAGE, said: Added:
Whether you want to transform collaboration in your hashtag#workplace or enhance your student hashtag#learning experience, ENGAGE 3.10 is designed for the future of work and education.
What’s new in 3.10
ENGAGE 3.10 introduces support for Meta’s Llama LLM framework, specifically in the AI Builder service. The move will allow users to create enhanced conversational AI chatbots and virtual situations that respond to users with natural responses.
Whelan explained:
AI Builder and your chosen AI school character are now fully integrated with Meta’s Llama’s AI. Based on extensive testing, Llama excels at creating conversational chatbots that are more natural and human-like, especially in verbal interactions. This is consistent with Metas’ expertise in leveraging real communication data from platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook. OpenAI remains a leader in providing structured, fact-based responses, but its chatbots tend to produce numbered lists.
The 3.10 update also introduces the URL Quick Links feature, which simplifies the process of joining online ENGAGE sessions. The new feature means virtual attendees can join groups without a session name, ID or password.
Finally, with version 3.10, ENGAGE introduces improved desktop controls for PC and Mac users. This is a major update to ENGAGE that improves the usability and interoperability of the platform. This means workers without XR headsets will have a better user experience.
Additionally, the Desktop Control update ensures a better user experience on all end devices supported by ENGAGE, including mobile phones and tablets, including any applicable device-specific limitations.
ENGAGE is free for users to try, allowing potential adopters to test the service for their own use cases without having to invest money in the service or headsets.
