Sorare Football Product Roadmap Update: Rewards Pools, Rivals, More | Sorare | Sorare | December 2023
Welcome to Sorare Football’s latest product roadmap update. We’re excited to share a quick check-in on our progress since our last update a few weeks ago, including information about the Premier League Winter Competition, rewards pool updates, Rivals Beta, and more.
Before we launch into our latest update, let us remind you of our product priorities for the remainder of 2023.
- Sorare Pro repeats competitions and rewards to enhance the experience.
- Remove friction to create seamless mobile-first experiences that drive growth and conversion.
As part of our Sorare Pro competition iteration, we announced the Premier League Winter Competition earlier this month.
The first competition kicked off successfully on Friday. Congratulations to the winners of our first competition.
The competition will run every weekend until Premier League matchday 22 (30 January 2024). This includes a total of 11 Game Weeks (GW), including the Boxing Day match on 26 December.
Learn more about the competition here.
*Total cash prize of $500,000 is the total amount of all prizes awarded during the Premier League Winter Competition and does not reflect any single prize amount.
To increase the variety of player cards available as rewards, we are regularly reintroducing non-starting players to the rewards pool. This includes substitutes and players who do not play regularly for the team (“Did Not Play” or “DNP”).
Player Cards will be reintroduced to the prize pool starting next Tuesday, December 5th, and you will first receive rewards on Friday, December 8th, when GW 430 ends.
To ensure that this update does not affect the quality of the card rewards provided each Game Week, we will be removing the bottom 30% of players after calculating the new prize pool. This does not change the rating system.
We’re also updating the card exchange rules to better suit the new prize pools. Starting from GW 430, injured players can only be replaced if the injury was a long-term injury (6 months or more) that occurred during the previous two Game Weeks after compensation was earned. For example, if you receive an injured player at the end of GW 430, you may be eligible for a swap if that player has a long-term injury (6 months or more) that occurred in GW 429 or 430.
Why do we do this?
By excluding replacement players and DNPs from the compensation pool, we have become overly reliant on regular starters. Because of this, we ended up awarding certain players multiple rewards each game week, which was a frustrating experience for administrators.
This adjustment is in line with our commitment to providing a fun and sustainable experience for managers and will allow us to distribute players more broadly across our reward pool while reducing the number of duplicate player card rewards available each game week.
Plus, as football fans know, the sport we love is full of comeback stories and young players suddenly bursting onto the scene. We can’t wait to see the next rising star football story to come out of Sorare!
We will closely monitor data and community feedback as we implement this change.
In an effort to improve your mobile experience, we’re making several improvements this month.
We have launched OAuth (login authentication by third parties such as Google/Apple/Facebook) to the iOS Sorare app. This new sign-in feature eliminates a major pain point for administrators using iOS apps and simplifies the onboarding and sign-in flow. Administrators can now securely log in to the app using their Google, Apple, or Facebook accounts.
We’re also developing systems to deliver mobile updates at similar rates across iOS and Android.
Stay tuned for more mobile updates in the coming weeks!
We’d also like to give a big shout-out to our current top Rival testers. Well done Soraremonkey! You were not disappointed.
Special mention to Aymericbdb, which until recently dominated the leaderboard.
And we sincerely thank everyone who tested the Rivals beta. Based on your feedback, we are focusing on two areas:
- Improved first user experience and invitation flow
- Expand and improve your gameplay progression.
Call to invite a friend (not Sorare) to join Rivals!
To gather feedback from a wider range of football fans, we’re looking for football fans who haven’t yet played Sorare Pro to sign up for the Rivals beta. We encourage current Sorare Rivals testers to invite their football-passionate friends to join us. This feedback will help us improve your onboarding and onboarding experience.
We plan to launch this new feature in December, following our announcement earlier this month.
We’ll be releasing Manager Progress in two parts, starting with the launch of the Manager Challenges in the next two weeks.
In case you missed it, every Tuesday we share a pitch note with a brief update covering the latest Sorare news and upcoming community events (e.g. collection events, new faces on the market, etc.).
Stadium Notes are part of our effort to provide more frequent news and notes related to product updates.
You can expect the next product roadmap update in mid-December. This is when we’ll share our progress on the items above and give you a sneak peek into our plans for launch in 2024.
As always, we’ll be monitoring your feedback closely (keep it coming!) and provide more clarity across social media where necessary. Hope you have a great Game Week!
