Earlier this month, Lunasians gathered on the Axie Discord hosted by Ryan for the September Town Hall. Co-founders Jihoz and Trung shared updates on recent wins and future plans for the Axie ecosystem. Let’s take a closer look!

Big idea: We’ve gone back to the roots of how we make, deliver and ship products.

Our Insights:

  • Now we leak the function ~ before We launch to get feedback from the community. This allows us to align with the community, build better products, and make launches more seamless.

  • We’ve successfully applied this approach to several recent updates. Involving the community early in development creates experiences that resonate with the Axie player base.

Big idea: Classic enters its fifth competitive season and is rolling out several new features to encourage participation.

Our Insights:

  • Daily tournaments offer a more flexible option for players with varying schedules.

  • Relics bring a new strategic element to the classic, deepening the tactical choices available in the game.

  • Classic remains an iconic blockchain game, especially in the Philippines, and we are committed to its continued growth.

Main idea: Homeland made huge strides this year.

Our Insights:

  • We added Avatar Mode to enhance social features and player interaction within Homeland. We also revamped the Moonfall system to improve gameplay dynamics, and the AXP + NFT Axies integration was a success.

  • Homeland is now part of the Premier Bounty Board, offering more rewards and engagement opportunities.

  • We’ve fulfilled a long-standing promise by casting the Luna’s Landing plot, demonstrating our commitment to our roadmap.

Big idea: Origins introduces a new PvE roguelike game mode.

Our Insights:

  • Roguelike mode is a PvE experience inspired by Slay the Spire. Over 30,000 players have tried it and given positive feedback so far! This new PVE mode is a different challenge. Only 215 players have completed all three levels in the first run.

  • We implemented this mode without tokenized rewards, the goal being to measure real player interest and enjoyment of the game.

  • This week we’ll be awarding rewards to winners of Roguelike events and races.

  • We are still collecting feedback from the community to improve and polish the mod.

Big idea: We introduced Meta Morph in Origins, a feature that allows collectible axes to change parts, which in turn changes the cards in the arena.

  • Meta Morph aims to make collectible Axes (especially Mystics) more useful and flexible. This feature allows players to transform collectible Axes into parts. The number of parts that can be transformed depends on the tier of the Axe. This account linking feature is exclusive to Origins and will reset when Axes are transferred.

  • The upcoming class morph feature aims to make Mystic and Agamogenesis axes the most versatile axes in Origins by giving them the ability to change classes.

  • Since the introduction of Metamorph, demand for Mystic Axis has steadily increased.

  • Metamorph improves gameplay and strengthens the bond between players and Axes.

  • Trung also shared insight into the origins of Meta Morph.

    • This idea goes back to the original Axis vision, which promised Mystic Axis a high level of utility across a variety of experiences.

    • Two approaches were considered: increasing strength (better suited to PvE) and increasing flexibility (better suited to both PvE and PvP).

    • The team focused on flexibility, which will ensure that Meta Morph is future-proof and suitable for a variety of game modes.

    • This feature was first implemented in Origins due to the complex composition of Axie parts. It is likely to be incorporated in other Axie games in the future.

Big idea: Our Bounty Board has seen significant growth and engagement across the Axie ecosystem.

Our Insights:

  • We’ve reached 100,000 weekly participants, a significant milestone in community engagement.

  • The Bounty Board has seen an increase in Axie Infinity related transactions and daily active addresses.

  • This feature acts as an integrated feature across many Axie experiences, encouraging players to explore different aspects of the ecosystem.

Big Idea: We’re rolling out the Axie Delegation system in two phases, with the goal of improving Axie utility and empowering player choice.

Our Insights:

  • Phase 1 (ETA: October) will introduce the Delegation Center for managing delegated Axies. Players will be able to delegate multiple Axies to a single address in a streamlined process. This will launch alongside the Passive Adventure feature for NFT Axies in Homeland, creating synergies between the two systems.

  • In Phase 2 (expected to be by the end of the year), we will introduce a rental market and proposal system.

  • There will be multiple delegation models, including reward sharing and AXP farming, to suit different player preferences.

NOTE: At Town Hall we talked about launching the delegation in September, but we have now updated the launch date to October.

Big idea: We are improving the Lucky Token system to provide more benefits to owners of collectible axes.

Our Insights:

  • Axies with multiple collectible parts will receive more Lucky Notes and rarer Axies as rewards.

  • To encourage Axie evolution, we are adding a bonus slip multiplier for each evolved collectible part. This update aims to increase demand for Radiant Shells and improve the economy of the Garuda store.

  • These changes will be rolling out within 2 weeks!

Big idea: We’re planning a new type of Axie event for Fall 2024!

Our Insights:

  • Unlike previous events, this one will not involve breeding. We will be experimenting with dynamic NFTs.

  • We will maintain the RNG element that makes breeding events exciting.

  • This event will feature a unique aesthetic and a new collectible Axis collection!

  • This event represents a new direction for our approach to seasonal Axie activities and rewards.

Big idea: We’re revamping the Axie Discord to improve community engagement and communication.

Our Insights:

  • We’re implementing community suggestions to streamline and simplify Discord’s structure.

  • We are launching a new rewards system for the top 100 members based on their participation. Rewards will be distributed from AXS, aligning community participation with ecosystem benefits.

  • These changes aim to make Discord more accessible and rewarding for active community members.

Big idea: We have started development on a new Axie game with MMORPG elements to expand our gaming offerings.

Our Insights:

  • The game is still in its early stages, with development taking about a month so far.

  • We want to incorporate lessons learned from Homeland and other Axie games to create a powerful experience.

  • The team plans to build more openly. We will work with the community for feedback throughout development.

  • This new game demonstrates our commitment to providing diverse gameplay in the Axie world.

Big idea: We’re developing a new casual Axis experience inspired by Tamagotchi.

Our Insights:

  • We’ll be presenting and sharing a playable prototype in Singapore next week.

  • This experience is a very casual game and will attract new players. It shows our efforts to diversify Axie. We want to cater to a variety of player preferences and play styles.

  • This prototype will help gauge interest in more casual, pet care style gameplay within the Axie ecosystem.

This Town Hall showcased the exciting future of Lunacia. The passion, feedback, and unwavering support of our community is what drives Axie Infinity to new heights. Want to hear more from the in-depth discussion and Q&A? Check out the full Town Hall video on YouTube. See you next time!
