The Graph Upgrades Tools for Solana Builders, Accelerating DApp Deployments

The Graph, an indexing protocol for organizing blockchain data, has announced an upgrade to its Solana network support, strengthening its previous integration. This update provides the Solana developer community with improved data tools and additional options for accessing indexed Solana data.

“With the rapid growth of developer and user activity on Solana, there has been a significant increase in demand for open, decentralized data that aligns with the values of Web3,” Nick Hansen, head of growth at The Graph Foundation, said in a written statement. “The Graph’s latest tooling upgrades and improved support will ensure that the Solana community can get more value from the decentralized data layer of Web3,” he added.

The latest upgrade provides an improved development experience for Substreams-based Subgraphs (SpS) by introducing new code generation tools for remote and local use. Built by StreamingFast, a core engineering team within The Graph ecosystem, these tools facilitate rapid setup of end-to-end Substreams projects. These advancements provide unparalleled flexibility for Solana development. For developers experienced with Substreams, the updated tools enable efficient and simple synchronization.

Developers can now start building on Solana with The Graph, even if they are not familiar with Substreams. The new tooling allows access to Solana data without having to work directly with Substreams or Rust. This flexibility allows developers to leverage tools that fit their skills and project requirements.

Additional enhancements include the Solana Substreams module by Top Ledger and StreamingFast, as well as a variety of Substreams and Substreams-based subgraphs developed by Messari. Developers also have access to several pre-built Substreams-based subgraphs, such as UNCX and Orca Whirlpool.

Graph enhances support for Solana, reducing costs and improving the indexing stack.

Solana’s technology, known for its high transaction speeds and low fees, has become a popular choice for many decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects. As the Solana ecosystem expands, the need for effective data indexing and querying solutions is growing.

Graph’s upgraded support for Solana provides developers with advanced tools to build dApps and analyze on-chain data more effectively. The improvements include cost savings, more efficient data sources, an improved programmable indexing stack that is easier to use, faster to index, and provides a historical cache of Solana blocks that is 25% of the total block size.

These improvements are consistent with The Graph’s efforts to support a multi-chain future and promote interoperability within the Web3 ecosystem. The upgraded tools will be particularly beneficial to developers using Solana, data analysts working with Solana data, and the broader Web3 community seeking advanced data solutions.
