Calamity, the upcoming 2D action RPG, has begun its final playtest, giving players a chance to compete for a $4,400 prize pool.
This playtest, which will run from September 3rd to September 13th, will allow Artifact owners to experience the game’s mechanics, participate in contests, and prepare for Play to Airdrop (P2A) campaigns.
Playtesting is the last opportunity for players to fine-tune their strategies before the game token airdrop distribution begins.
What is a disaster?
Calamity is a 2D top-down action RPG inspired by genre-defining titles like World of Warcraft and Diablo, where players immerse themselves in a vast world and engage in both PvE and PvP modes. PvE dungeons see players clearing waves of increasingly difficult enemies for greater rewards, while PvP arenas offer competitive combat involving duels and skirmishes.
The game features a unique class system that directly links a player’s role to their chosen weapon, allowing them to seamlessly switch between warrior, archer, and wizard classes.
The player-driven economy is at the core of the gameplay, with items being bought, sold, or traded via the auction house. Equipment is further enhanced by repairing, scrapping, or merging items at the forge, and the gem system allows for further customization of equipment.
The game also features NFTs called Artifacts, which provide in-game benefits such as increased experience and loot.
How do I participate in a playtest?
To participate in the final playtest, players must first acquire an Artifact NFT from the Calamity collection available on OpenSea.
After acquiring the relic, ownership must be verified on Calamity’s Discord server. Once verified, players can request an access code through the Discord support channel.
This code grants you access to the game on the Epic Games Store and allows you to participate in playtests.
What are the benefits for participants?
Playtest participants will be able to compete for prizes in two events, with a total prize pool of $4,400.
