There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in!
Season 4 marks the second leg of this year’s Axie Classic Competitive Circuit. This action-packed season will run for 4 weeks, followed by a one-week offseason.
For our guild battlers, the Guild Leaderboard for Season 4 heats up the competition with a total reward pool of 10,000 AXS. Another 3,000 AXS prize pool is up for grabs to guilds who achieve milestones. The top 8 guilds in the leaderboard will also earn Placement Points towards the next iteration of Guild Wars. The Competitive Guild Leaderboard runs from July 22nd, 9 AM UTC to August 11th, 9 AM UTC. Gear up your guild and rise to the top!
Brace yourselves for a daily adrenaline rush, Lunacians! Mini Tournaments are storming into Axie Classic. These compact, action-packed events offer players of all skill levels a chance to compete, earn rewards, and sharpen their skills. A total of 700 AXS prize pool is up for grabs every day! Plus, earn Guild Points (GP) with every win to boost your guild’s standing. In Season 4, the Mini Tournaments run until August 19th.
Here’s how it works:
-
Every day, there will be 2 shifts of Mini Tournaments, one for each region:
-
You can participate in only one Mini Tournament per day.
-
Your eligibility and tier depends on your Arena rank.
-
There are 10 battles in every tournament.
In light of this new feature, we’re limiting the GP earned from Cursed Coliseum. From Season 4 onwards, only two Cursed Coliseum sessions per day will award Guild Points (GP).
Note: The Cursed Coliseum is currently disabled for this week and will be re-enabled next week.
For all of you who love the thrill of the Arena Leaderboard, Season Championship awaits for you at the end of this season. The Season Championship has its own 2,000 AXS prize pool and a ticket to qualify for the Axie Classic World Cup. The top 16 players from the season’s Arena Leaderboard will qualify for the Season Championship. Starting this season, Grand Tournament placements no longer qualify for the Season Championship.
In addition, the Top 17-100 of the Arena Leaderboard will compete against each other in a private tournament at the end of the season. The top 16 players of this private tournament will join the initial 16 players from the Arena Leaderboard. In total, 32 players will qualify for the Season Championship starting this season.
The 7th Grand Tournament kicks off in a few days! Don’t forget to register in-game. Registration opens at 9 AM UTC on July 22nd and closes at 3 AM on July 30th.

Get ready to flip the script on your Classic battles. Introducing a new game mechanic that will bring a fun twist to your battles — Artifacts! Artifacts are items that allow you to change an Axie’s class. This adds a new layer of strategy to your Classic battles in Arena and select tournaments.
Here’s how it works:
-
Choose one Artifact from your collection before entering a battle.
-
Artifacts can be activated during the card casting phase.
-
When you activate an Artifact, your opponent can see which Axie it is used on. They would then get a 10-second window to counter with their own if they wish to.
-
If both players are targeting the same Axie, the last Artifact activated takes the effect.
Pro tip: The key is to time your Artifact activation for maximum impact. Keep your eyes peeled for your opponent’s moves.
Each Artifact has 10 uses per battle per day. You can recharge once daily for 100 SLP to gain 10 extra uses. Premium Battle Pass holders enjoy an extra 10 uses on top of that!
Artifacts can be upgraded to 4 levels, each level extends its effect:
-
Level 1: Converts an Axie’s class for 1 turn
-
Level 2: Converts an Axie’s class for 2 turns
-
Level 3: Converts an Axie’s class for 4 turns
-
Level 4: Converts an Axie’s class for 8 turns
Here’s how much it costs to upgrade Artifacts:
-
Level 1: Unlocked with the first copy
-
Level 2: Requires 11 total copies, costs 1,000 gold
-
Level 3: Requires 31 total copies, costs 2,000 gold
-
Level 4: Requires 71 total copies, costs 4,000 gold
Once you’ve reached 71 copies, extra copies convert to 100 gold instead.
Players get Artifacts from the Battle Pass rewards, chest drops, and the daily Golden Wheel spin. We’ve made updates to the chest rewards to reflect this.
For Season 4, only the 6 main class Artifacts will be available. Special class Artifacts (Mech, Dawn, Dusk) will be released later.
The long-awaited Battle Pass is finally here. Crush your way through Arena ranks, smash milestones, and watch the rewards rain down. Axie Classic has just gotten a serious power-up!
Axie Classic’s Battle Pass comes in two flavors: Normal and Premium. Everyone gets a taste of the Normal Pass where players can earn gold and artifacts as they rank up. For the true treasure hunters, the Premium Pass is where it’s at. A treasure trove of rewards, including AXS and SLP, awaits Premium Pass holders.
Note: You must complete Battle Pass milestones within the season to receive the rewards.
There’s more for Mystic Axie holders! At the start of each season, Mystic Axie owners will receive a special code via email to redeem a free Premium Pass. The code is for each Mystic Axie you own! If you have multiple Mystic Axies, you’ll get a code for each one — perfect for sharing the premium experience with friends!
Meet the new and improved Arena ranking system. For Season 4 and beyond, we’ve redesigned the ranking system to give a more engaging competitive experience.
We’ve rolled out a shiny new tier system. It shows a clear progression path from Newbie to Master. It’s not just about bragging rights, this system ties directly into our Mini Tournaments. Every rank up counts!
Here’s how the new ranking system looks like:
In this season, everyone starts fresh in Bronze III. The balanced matchmaking ensures you’ll only face opponents within one rank of your own. For example, Bronze players won’t face Gold opponents. This keeps matches competitive and fair.
In addition, a win streak bonus rewards consistent performance and helps skilled players advance faster. Check out how this works:
-
Win streak bonus kicks in after your 3rd consecutive win.
-
You will earn double points (2x) for each win while on a streak.
-
The maximum bonus caps at 20 points (up to your 10th consecutive win).
To encourage consistent and active play, we’ve also implemented a MMR decay system. Here’s how the calculation works:
-
Each rank has a set Point Requirement for MMR decay.
-
At the end of the day, we add up all your MMR changes from wins and losses.
-
The decay value is then calculated as: Decay = Point Requirement − sum of all MMR changes for the day.
-
The decay system applies daily at 00:00 UTC.
Check out our updated Classic wiki for more details about the new ranking system.
To celebrate the launch of Season 4 and the Arena rank reset, we’re hosting the Axie Classic S4 Streamer Race. The race will start on July 22nd at 10:00 AM UTC and will end on July 25th at 10:00 AM UTC.
To join the race, all creators must promote the event on social media using #RoninCreator and tag @axieinfinity and @ronin_network. Additionally, all participants must stream the entire event.
-
All players will start from scratch with 0 MMR.
-
Players must not play any games before the race begins.
-
The tournament is victory-based, with each player required to play a total of 50 games. The player with the most victories wins.
-
In case of a tie, the time from the first to the last game will be considered, measured in streaming time.
-
Players must display a timer on their screen to measure the elapsed time during the game.
-
All players must show their place in the leaderboard at the start of the race ON STREAM.
-
Each player will have 10 minutes for breaks per stream, during which the timer may be paused. Remember to restart it after the break!
-
Players can choose to play all 50 games in one stream or divide them into two separate streams within the 72-hour timeframe.
-
All players MUST show the last 50 matches in the Battle Log ON STREAM when they end the race.
Participants must submit their game VODs using this form before July 25th at 6:00 AM EST. All 50 games must be streamed; any unstreamed games may result in disqualification.
