HTC Launches Codeless Metaverse Builder VIVERSE Create

HTC has launched VIVERSE Create, a codeless metaverse builder that lets users create and share interactive multiplayer worlds.

In fact, this suite of tools allows creators to share their worlds with anyone, on any device—VR headset, mobile, PC, Mac—even if they don’t have a gaming machine.

Taiwanese tech giant HTC explained in a press release that the solution is cross-platform thanks to its “no-installation-required” functionality.

Andranik Aslanyan, Head of Growth, HTC VIVERSEWe believe VIVERSE Create will help people realize the potential of the metaverse.

“The days of confining your creations to a virtual world are over.

“With VIVERSE Create, we give creators the tools to create any world and share it with their friends, parents, and even grandparents, all with a simple, secure, sign-up link.

“Whether it’s a virtual hangout, a live event, or a multiplayer matchup, anyone can participate in VIVERSE Create. This proves that the metaverse isn’t dead. It’s just waiting for the rest of us to catch up.”

Creating VIVERSE code-free builders

The code-free builder is available via the VIVERSE Create website, allowing users to create virtual worlds with media files and assets using a flat device.

Now users can get access to millions of free models by ‘seamlessly’ integrating with the Sketchfab library without any specialized 3D knowledge.

However, for more advanced users, VIVERSE Create natively supports the VROID VRM format, making it easy to import and distribute your current models.

PlayCanvas, an advanced ‘game engine style’ build tool, is another option for creators who want to design interactive experiences within the browser. Again, you can import your builds into VIVERSE without coding.

Last month, HTC launched its new Polygon Streaming service, bringing interactive 3D models into workflows that can be accessed across a range of devices, including tablets, smartphones, laptops, PCs, and XR headsets.

Integrate client-side rendering and server-side processing to reduce processing power and bandwidth requirements.

Polygon streaming is said to stream only data from the 3D model that the user is viewing, providing an appropriate amount of detail depending on the viewing distance.

Will Eastcott, PlayCanvas CEOCommenting on the significance of the partnership with HTC, he said: “At PlayCanvas, we believe in the power of the web to create interactive experiences that are accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise.

“We’ve delivered on this vision by partnering with HTC VIVERSE to launch VIVERSE Create, enabling creators to build and share rich multiplayer worlds directly in the browser, without coding.

“This partnership is a major step forward in democratizing game development, making it easier than ever to bring innovative ideas to life on any device, anywhere.”

VIVERSE is a 3D virtual environment that connects people around the world and provides a variety of tools and services for developers, creators, businesses, and individuals.
