OKX Introduces AUD Trading Pairs to Enhance Crypto Accessibility for Australian Users

In response to the growing demand from our Australian customer base, OKXOne of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges is set to launch Australian Dollar (AUD) trading pairs. The move will allow Australian traders to directly exchange major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and stablecoins such as Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) for AUD.

Monday’s announcement marks a significant step for OKX, which has become the largest global exchange offering AUD pairs for spot trading in Australia. Designed to provide traders with greater transparency and more informed trading decisions, the feature underscores OKX’s commitment to the needs of the local market.

OKX’s Strategic Expansion in Australia

OKX Australia General Manager Jamie Kennedy emphasized that the addition of crypto-AUD trading pairs was a direct response to the needs of Australian customers. “Providing local fiat currency trading capabilities is critical to driving adoption and development of the local cryptocurrency ecosystem,” Kennedy said, emphasizing OKX’s goal to continue investing in tailored products that meet the unique needs of the Australian market.

OKX Launches AUD Trading Pairs to Enhance Crypto Accessibility for Australian Users

OKX’s foray into the Australian market began in earnest last year, when the exchange set up an office in Sydney and officially launched its Australian operations in May. Since then, the exchange has established itself as a major player in the Australian crypto market, offering direct AUD deposits and withdrawals, and offering a platform that Kennedy describes as “secure, easy to use, and responsive to (customers’) needs.”

OKX’s Global and Local Performance

OKX’s recent achievements are not limited to Australia. Earlier this year, the exchange received in-principle approval for a payment license in Singapore and expanded its operations to Turkey. OKX also “WeMoney Cryptocurrency Awards 2024” was named Cryptocurrency Exchange of the Year in Australia. Kennedy said the accolade reflects OKX’s relentless pursuit of innovation and dedication to its customers.

As OKX continues to build momentum, the launch of AUD trading pairs is expected to open up new market opportunities for Australian users, further solidifying the exchange’s role in shaping the future of the region’s cryptocurrency ecosystem.
