The S10 Preseason has begun! In the coming three weeks, we’ll be unpacking new features while grinding our favorite preseason rituals. Roguelike. Meta Morph. New Starter Axies. Balancing changes. Collectible Leaderboard. Let’s dive into the details.
Axie Origins PvE experience is here! For a limited time only, dive into Roguelike mode, guide your team of axies through a perilous landscape, and battle waves of chimeras along the way. Yes, chimeras! Face axies’ most famous enemy and emerge victorious to earn AXP, Honor Medals, and Roguelike Tickets.
Roguelike Mode v1.0 marks the beginning of a groundbreaking journey in Origins’ PvE gameplay. This first version aims to kick off the foundation and work with the community to improve the PvE experience. Your feedback and participation are crucial in this testing phase. The Roguelike Mode v1.0 will be available from August 7 to August 28. At the end of the preseason, we will pause the feature as we work towards v2 with your feedback.
Here’s how it works:
-
Each player embarks on a journey starting at Level 1, initiating a Run through a series of PvE stages.
-
A successful run means you’ve conquered all stages, while losing any stage means starting anew. Even a single surrender or abandonment counts as a loss.
-
Roguelike offers the flexibility to resume at any time. You can also abandon your run to start a new one.
-
After winning a stage, you can choose 1 of 3 random buffs for one axie. Selection time is 5 minutes. If time runs out, the system will choose a random buff for you. Some buffs last a few stages, while others last for the entire Run.
-
Some stages consume 1 Stamina which will increase the rewards of that stage and the next three stages. For those daring enough to continue without Stamina, the rewards are lowered, but the thrill of the challenge remains.
Strategic decision-making is key, especially when it comes to managing your axie team. Once selected, you cannot change your team throughout the Run. However, you can swap Runes and Charms mid-run. For an extra layer of challenge, your axies’ HP does not reset between stages and fallen axies will not reappear unless revived. How long can you last?
Winning matches in Roguelike Mode rewards you with AXP, Honor Medals, and Roguelike Tickets. These rewards vary according to your level and progression. Defeat the final boss to earn an exclusive avatar to showcase your feat!
Roguelike Tickets are items used to claim rewards from the item shop. We’ve got exclusive non-seasonal Runes and Charms available only in the Roguelike Ticket shop! Check out more of the rewards you can claim with Roguelike Tickets:

We’ve been hard at work introducing updates and utilities to our prized collectible axies. From collectible chests to part evolution, we’ve shipped features that add depth and utility. But we know one pain point has persisted for our collectors: the viability of collectible Axies in the arena. Many of our prized collectibles often end up being just “chops.”
Meta Morph changes the game by allowing you to morph collectible axie cards into other cards of axies that you own. This new feature adds significant utility to your collectible axies. Starting today, they can shine in the arena just as much as they do in your collection.
Note: Morphed cards will stay as they are until the axie is transferred to another account or you decide to revert the morphing.
Here’s how it works:
To morph a card, you will need the following:
Note: To morph into a card, you must have an NFT axie with that card in your inventory.
Success rates for morphing a card depend on:
-
Rarity of Collectible Axie: Higher rarity means a higher success rate.
-
Number of Cards Morphed: The more cards you morph, the lower the success rate for the next morph attempt.
Rarity also dictates how many cards you can morph for your collectible axies.
-
Mystic and Agamogenesis Axies can morph all 6 of their cards. They have the highest success rate for morphing. Future updates will add more utilities to these collections.
-
Origin Axies also enjoy the ability to morph all 6 of their cards.
-
MEO and MEO 2 Axies can morph 5 out of 6 cards.
-
Japanese, Xmas, and Shiny Axies can morph 4 out of 6 cards.
-
Summer Axies can morph 3 out of 6 cards.
For higher chances of success, you can pay extra SLP each time you morph. Do note that if morphing fails, you get back 50% of the class materials but lose all the SLP.
Note: You can revert morphed cards anytime in the Meta Morph menu for free. However, reverting a card won’t bring back items used during the morphing.
Step 1: Go to the Meta Morph menu to access the feature.
Step 2: Select the collectible axie that you want to morph.
Step 3: Choose the card you want to morph into. Morphed cards will show a purple glow around them.
Note: To morph into a card, you must have an NFT axie with that card in your inventory.
Step 4: Check the success rate. You can spend more SLP to raise your success rate by clicking on the plus button.
Step 5: Click Morph to finish the process.
Here are some more important details to note:
-
You can revert morphed cards anytime in the Meta Morph menu for free. However, reverting a card won’t bring back items used during the morphing.
-
Moving an axie between accounts will reset the morphed cards.
-
The axie’s potential points also change with the class of the morphed cards.
-
A morphed card’s level matches the original card’s level. If an axie part upgrades to level 2, its morphed version in Origins also becomes level 2.
-
During battles, the axie’s parts will change to the card it has morphed into.
-
In battle, morphed axies show a visible aura to indicate that they have altered their cards through Meta Morph.
Note: Now that collectible axies are more versatile, the extra HP they have is deemed no longer necessary. For this reason, we’ve removed the bonus HP for collectible axies.
Collectible Axie holders, your time has come! The Offseason Leaderboard returns now with a whopping 6,000 AXS prize pool. Battle with your prized axies, now fiercer than ever with the Meta Morph. Earn points, scale the ranks, and seize glory and AXS. Prove your mettle and let your collection shine in this thrilling competition!
Note: This time, there won’t be a Preseason Cup. We’ve moved its prize pool to the Collectible Leaderboard.
As a reminder, here’s how it works:
Play Ranked Mode with stamina and at least 1 collectible axie on your team to earn rank-based points and climb the collectible leaderboard.
Rank-based Points
-
Boar : 1
-
Wolf : 2
-
Bear : 4
-
Tiger : 8
-
Dragon : 16
-
Challenger : 32
Collectible Axie Point Multiplier
Example
A Challenger-ranked player has 1 Mystic, 1 Origin, and 1 Xmas Axie in their team:
-
Challenger Rank = 32 points
-
Collection Bonus = 1 + 3 + 1.5 + 0.75 = 6.25
-
Base = 1
-
Mystic = 3
-
Origin = 1.5
-
Xmas = 0.75
-
-
Total Points = 32 x 6.25 = 200
