Join the new classy and elegant LOVE Club for free (but only today and tomorrow!) – Ryan Schultz

Love is under new management with a new formal dress code and new rules, and I have found the club to be a worthy and elegant successor to the old Frank’s Jazz club.

As Second Life’s uncrowned freebie queen, I tend to spend a lot of time posting about cool freebies in SL avatar fashion, both on my blog and in Second Life’s Steals, Deals, and Freebies groups (more often the latter these days). Since I’m slowly reducing my coverage of Second Life (rather than the former). But today I wanted to share a different kind of freebie. A limited time opportunity to join a great club I found; before We are starting to charge group membership fees to our members!

I greatly mourned the loss of Frank’s Jazz Dance Club, a place where you could wear suits, tuxedos and ball gowns and listen to smooth jazz and golden oldies in beautifully appointed, elegant surroundings. After the original closed, several copycat startups emerged, but they all eventually closed. *

But I recently stumbled across a place where I’ve been spending a lot of time over the past week, and I think it’s the successor to old Frank’s! It used to be a slightly seedy tag dance club that encouraged female nudity, but has recently changed ownership and introduced new rules and standards of behavior, as well as a new formal, non-sexist dress code.

I must confess that it was really wonderful to find a place where you can dress up and spend time in an elegant and romantic ballroom, listening to soft classical music – jazz, swing and music of yesteryear and recent times. From R&B to current adult contemporary ballads: Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Eva Cassidy, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, Michael Bublé… the list goes on. In fact, I often park my Vanity Fair or similarly well-dressed avatar in a secret corner of this club, turn up the volume on the stream, and play some relaxing, nostalgic background music while I do other things. Not only in the Windows tab on your PC, but even while doing the dishes or cleaning!

Vanity Fair (dressed stunningly in a new ballgown by Son!a Edge) hangs out near the bar at the new Love club. It’s much more satisfying than listening to it on the radio!

The name of this club is simply Love. I’m taking a much-needed vacation from work this week, and have been stopping by this place at various times throughout the week, day and night, to check it out. Love seems to be quite popular with between 20 and 70 avatars at any one time, both during the day with a lot of Europeans and in the evenings with a lot of North Americans. In addition to the primary Legends Jazz music stream, Love’s new owners frequently schedule guest DJs, live singers and performers, and tribute acts.

Here’s the freebie part: You can join the Love Club group for free, but only today, March 31st and tomorrow, April 1st! Beginning April 2, 2024, Love will require group membership to attend most events. In a recent note card, the owner says:

…We have surpassed 2,500 members and continue to strive to provide members with the best service and high-quality experience and enhance exclusive benefits, and have decided to request membership fees from all new members starting from the 2nd. April 2024.

This means:

  • From 2 April, all new memberships will cost L$790.
  • Current members will naturally remain members without any fees.
  • The LOVE venue will be open to group members only from April 2nd.
  • “Love” group members will also have special access to special Noir’Wen events, activities and offers (Noir’Wen is the name of the area where the Love club is located).

Group membership allows you to schedule and plan for live performers (singers, dance groups, DJs and tribute acts), provide a stipend to our Official LOVE Photographer and Cigarette Girl, as well as organize monthly professional “themed events” . basic.

We will organize regular “Open Nights” and events that provide temporary admission to non-group members and guests.

With new management and a formal dress code, we want to assure you that we are committed to providing value and quality to your SL experience. Your continued support allows us to innovate, grow, and provide you with the high-quality experience you deserve.

Anyway, I found it a pretty comfortable place to visit and enjoy, and I wanted to give a shout out to Love on my blog and let you know that there are only a few days left to join Love’s group for free! The group name is “Love” (yes, with the quotes) and the group’s URI, which you can copy and paste into text chat to join the group, is: secondlife:///app/group/0ecc3e77-afdf-129d-cc5a-21dd9647e9f8/about. (There is also a group sign-up sign at the entrance.)

The women’s dress code is now much less sexist, and tag dancing is still allowed at these clubs (subject to the rules), although lewd and nudity can get you kicked out quickly. According to the “Love” group description:

Welcome to “Love”, the place for tag dance and romance. This product is for cheerful, colorful and attractive customers with a unique sense of style. It is a sophisticated and sophisticated venue for intimate and romantic encounters. We encourage tag dancing in ballroom dance venues. Here, patrons can join the couple by politely touching the dancer’s shoulder. “Love” is a friendly and elegant tag spot. Tags dance, jazz, music, romance, sensual fetish. The formal dress code applies to everyone.

*Frank’s still has an elite VIP club. It costs L$1,000 to become a member, but unfortunately this is a muted echo of the original hard-hitting dance club. Vanity Fair was once a member, but as freebie fashionistas, we decided we should keep all of Vanity’s reserve group slots free for our stores and events! Prioritypeople!! 😉
