AllSchool founder Warren Joseph Moises sees blockchain as the future of education.

Education certificates or diplomas are probably one of the most forged documents in the Philippines. Document forgery is so rampant that there is a place in Manila that sells customized forged documents at low prices.

How can we prevent fake documents from being distributed? Warren Joseph Moises of AllSchool sees blockchain as a key solution, he explained to CoinGeek Backstage on the sidelines of the first Block Dojo Philippines bootcamp last January.

AllSchool is an edtech startup that provides an all-in-one digital campus solution aimed at automating teaching and learning management system processes.

Moises has been working in the education sector for over 30 years, serving local and international schools. He believes that with the help of new technologies such as blockchain, the education system will improve and become more efficient.

“Blockchain will provide for student and school concerns, security and safety, including student records, of course,” he said.

On the application side, Moises explained that AllSchool will leverage blockchain technology to publish and verify student records. Thanks to its immutable design and timestamp feature, this technology can determine whether a digital document is fake or tampered with.

“Student records, safety and security are secondary issues and valid concerns for school owners, students and teachers. Therefore, keeping records on blockchain would be helpful. We reduce operating costs. Repetitive tasks are eliminated. Of course, data privacy issues will also be addressed,” Moises explained.

“Application of blockchain to student records will help with document issuance and verification. “It is a forged or altered document so that stakeholders can directly check,” he added.

When asked if academics and educators are open to using blockchain, Moises said definitely yes, acknowledging that this technology will be the future and industry standard for government agencies as well as schools.

AllSchool is part of the first cohort of Block Dojo Philippines. Block Dojo Philippines is the regional division of Block Dojo UK. The incubator program finds early-stage startups, accelerates their businesses through extensive training, and provides access to investment funding rounds.

“Block Dojo has structure and clarity that defines what we are doing and helps us develop a deeper understanding of who we are and what our purpose is. And the technology itself is new. We want to be the first in the market to use blockchain in the education system,” said Moises.
