Avalanche has partnered with Alipay+ to power its e-wallet and voucher program.

Avalanche (AVAX) blockchain announced that it has partnered with online payment platform Alipay+ and digitization solution Alipay+ D-store to introduce an e-wallet and voucher program. The new initiative aims to accelerate the development of Web3.

Avalanche is a smart contract platform that scales infinitely and finalizes transactions on a regular basis. Consensus protocols, subnet infrastructure, and HyperSDK toolkit enable Web3 developers to deploy custom blockchain solutions.

The new program is powered by the Avalanche Subnet and is built and overseen by the blockchain service. AvaCloud. This represents the first step of a two-part proof of concept (POC). The second phase will focus on food and beverage merchants while expanding the reach of POC to the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the more than 100 million Chinese nationals traveling to these countries.

E-wallet partners across Southeast Asia will have the opportunity to integrate Alipay+ D-store to enable POC and leverage Avalanche’s Web3 capabilities. Alipay+ D-store is an all-in-one ordering solution with tools to streamline store operations, online sales, order management, marketing, and analytics.

POC provides an opportunity for companies to explore Web3 solutions and evaluate their potential to foster new forms of interaction between merchants and users. These initiatives aim to enhance user retention and generate additional revenue streams for merchants. Additionally, Alipay+ D-store’s Web3-enabled voucher program will provide opportunities to collaborate with other brands by leveraging digital collectibles and other blockchain-based features.

Avalanche Subnets provide blockchain transparency, digital asset rails, and Web3 capabilities to improve program flexibility. Developers can customize their Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain using subnets by incorporating their preferred privacy configuration.

Additionally, enterprises leveraging AvaCloud can launch Avalanche subnets without extensive maintenance, integrate Web3 capabilities, proactively participate, and accelerate startup times at minimal cost. Avalanche Subnets are currently adopted by companies such as AWS, Deloitte, and SK Planet.

At the same time, the POC aims to expand the scope of AvaCloud beyond AWS to include a broader range of cloud systems. Within this POC, AvaCloud operates in a “hybrid” model across AlibabaCloud and AWS, with validators hosted on AlibabaCloud and RPCs provisioned through AvaCloud on AWS.
