Wert partners with Worldpay to integrate JCB, Amex and Discover into Web3 payments platform

Wert is working with Worldpay to integrate JCB, Amex and Discover into its Checkout platform.

Wert, a provider of Web3 payment solutions enabling fiat currency transactions, has partnered with global payment processor Worldpay to expand its card acceptance capabilities. The new partnership allows Wert to include JCB, American Express (Amex) and Discover cards in its integrated payment system.

Wert is introducing a non-fungible token (NFT) checkout solution for accessibility and simplified transactions, fostering broad engagement from native, non-cryptocurrency users. The checkout solution uses merchant category codes to achieve a 95% approval rate for fiat payments, while the average approval rate for fiat-to-crypto transactions is around 50%.

Additionally, Wert’s checkout solutions accept payments from virtually all major card brands, reducing purchase interruptions due to transaction declines and enabling high card acceptance. This is expected to contribute to increased on-ramp adoption for Web3.

Wert is looking to tap into a new niche for high-value purchases in the U.S. and Southeast Asia as it expands its reach to include additional payment methods. The integration is also expected to improve conversion rates, increasing revenue and strengthening market position.

The expanded payment options will enhance Wert’s NFT checkout experience, allowing creators to confidently showcase their works to a wider audience and providing a simplified experience for collectors to engage with NFTs.

“By fostering near-universal card acceptance, we are moving toward a comprehensive ecosystem where digital assets can be accessed without barriers. This represents a significant improvement in accessibility and inclusion within the Web3 space. This is an important step in enabling users around the world to seamlessly participate in the evolving digital economy,” George Basiladze, founder and CEO of Wert, said in a written statement.

Wert promoted Web3 adoption

Founded in 2020, Wert is an integrated payments provider operating in the financial technology sector. The company provides services that facilitate a seamless credit card payment experience for purchasing Web3 assets or NFTs directly from smart contracts. Wert also supports the sale of utility tokens, gas, and other decentralized finance (DeFi) assets. The company primarily serves the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries and operates as a regulated virtual asset service provider (VASP), licensed in Estonia and the United States.

Last year, Wert partnered with insurance technology service Avata to enhance its NFT assurance service by addressing the asset security gap for NFT collectors, offering opt-in assurance for NFTs that guarantees up to 90% of the digital asset value against damaged NFTs.
