Pavel Durov, CEO of cloud-based instant messaging application Telegram, announced the launch of the first set of Telegram business features. According to him, users can now convert their personal Telegram account to a business account.

Pavel Durov said in a Telegram post that switching to a business account will allow users to “add location and business hours, organize chats with color labels, use automatic greeting/absence messages and shortcuts for quick replies.” .

Additionally, additional Telegram business features will be introduced this month that will transform the way individuals engage with AI. Telegram business accounts can integrate AI chatbots to act as invisible assistants that respond to specific or all chats.

Additionally, a new bot application programming interface (API for developers) will be released later this month, and all of these features will be available for free.

Telegram expands advertising platform globally

Telegram is a cloud-based, cross-platform encrypted instant messaging service that is accessible across multiple platforms and used by people all over the world. As of last year, the number of monthly users of the application was reported to be 800 million.

The Telegram advertising platform will be available to advertisers in nearly 100 new countries this month. In these countries, channel owners will receive 50% of the revenue Telegram generates through advertising on their channels. The platform plans to exclusively use TON, the native cryptocurrency of The Open Network blockchain, to facilitate advertising payments and withdrawals.

Recently, Pavel Durov announced plans to manage Telegram’s TON supply by selling surplus holdings to long-term investors to prevent the possibility of over-concentration of TON within the holdings. Venture capital firm Mirana Ventures then partnered with TON Blockchain to purchase TON on the secondary market for $8 million.

Under the partnership, Mirana Ventures will also have exclusive access to the Telegram advertising platform. This will enable venture firms and partners, including the Ethereum Layer 2 Blockchain Mantle Network and cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, to foster community participation and expansion within the TON ecosystem.

At the time of writing, TON is worth $2.75, showing an increase of almost 1% based on data obtained from CoinMarketCap.

Telegram’s recent developments, global advertising expansion, and strategic cryptocurrency management highlight its commitment to innovation, shaping its path as an accessible and user-friendly application in the evolving digital landscape.
