Why your search for a cryptocurrency-friendly VPS host is finally over. | Posted by NinjAi | Coins | February 2024

As a trader and developer, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed a virtual server.
Whether I’m running a bot that needs to run 24/7, hosting a website with a powerful dapp, or just a storage solution, I’ve always had a hard time finding a provider that doesn’t apply crazy markup. This is because I chose to pay with Ethereum rather than a credit card.

People in my situation would most definitely agree that any provider that accepts cryptocurrency payments is one of the following:

A — They are intrusive and first ask for credit card payment and address information.
B — Charge 5 to 8 times the regular VPS amount for the same service
C — Only strange locations have servers.
D — Has strange customer support or interface.

Last week — I found a supplier I had never heard of and literally couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the prices I was seeing.
For $170 per month (paid with Ethereum) dedicated Servers with the following specifications:

ProLiant DL360 Gen9
2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5–2680 v3 @ 2.50GHz
256GB DDR4 RAM @ 2600MHz
4 x 2TB Samsung SSD 870 QVO (8TB storage space!)
48 cores

To the uninitiated, $170 may seem like a lot of money, but here’s a list of (non-dedicated) Vultr servers with similar specs to my computer:

As you can see, Vultr’s markup compared to Interserver is absolutely ridiculous. This will be a common theme with every provider you meet. This I can promise you.

I also know that my servers are overly specced for most projects. If you’re not willing to shell out that much money a month and probably need a small machine for most WordPress websites… How does $30 USD per year ($2.50 per month) sound?

Is this ridiculous?

This may be a shorter article than most, but as someone whose biggest overhead is usually server costs, I had to share this company with you. Support is next level, servers are provisioned very quickly and have smashed our benchmark tests.
(I was skeptical after purchasing it because of the price) Easily.

To be short, sweet, and to the point… They need more love.

If you’re like me and pay over the odds for the luxury of paying with Ethereum instead of cards, your search is over.
I’m always interested in learning about other hosts. If you know of any other cryptocurrency-friendly hosting services that offer similar specs at the same price, please let us know in the comments.
