Square Enix Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takashi Kiryu, hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) held an offline event focusing on the blockchain field on Friday, October 20, 2023. Shi-san-Sei Million Arthur and SYMBIOGENESIS were specially invited to participate in talk sessions and other activities. In this session, the company shared its vision for the future of its Blockchain Entertainment Division (BCE Division) and discussed the future of web3 with Yosuke Saito, Jin Fujisawa, Keisuke Hata, and others.
Goal of the event
This event aims to provide participants with first-hand experience of the experiences and stories that the company seeks to convey to consumers and stakeholders through projects in the blockchain field.
It also promotes community participation and interaction between asset holders and operating teams.

This talk session was attended by Mr. Saito Yosuke, who is in charge of the BCE division, and Mr. Jin Fujisawa, CEO of StoryNote Co., Ltd. The two industry veterans discussed the latest trends and developments in the gaming industry and received a positive response from the audience. .

Catering was provided at this event, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere that allowed attendees to socialize and interact with project team members.
Sisanseong Million Arthur can badges, which can be exchanged on site when registering for the event, were also given to attendees. These interactions can also be seen during the event.
Additionally, Keisuke Hata, producer of Shi-san-Sei Million Arthur, distributed stickers printed with NFTs he owns, drawing lines of people wanting to chat with him.

Each project presented updates and future roadmaps during the event.
On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Sisansei Million Arthur celebrated its 2nd anniversary with a special cake prepared with the blessings of its holders.
The holders’ congratulatory expressions add to the festivities and create an atmosphere of excitement and celebration.
SecuX × SQUARE ENIX collaboration hardware wallet
The company introduced the ‘SQUARE ENIX EDITION (not for sale)’ hardware wallet, which added a screen asset verification function to safely manage NFTs and digital assets.
A surprise draw was held with 40 lucky participants winning this exclusive hardware wallet. The majority of participants held NFT assets, which heightened overall enthusiasm and excitement.
SYMBIOGENESIS Original “The Martial Empire Beer”
During the event, attendees were given a bottle of ‘The Martial Empire Beer’, which will be featured in the SYMBIOGENESIS story. These physical beers were distributed as part of a partnership with the NFT project “Crypto Beer Punks”. Attendees had the opportunity to not only enjoy the beer but also participate in activities that revealed narrative elements hidden on the label.
Surveys and Gift Distribution
The event ended after gift giving. We conducted a post-event survey to gather feedback on overall satisfaction with the event and enjoyable content. More than 90% of attendees expressed satisfaction with the event, and many asset holders gave positive feedback, including feeling the passion of the business unit and enjoying various networking opportunities. This feedback contributed to the success of the event.

What is Sisansei Million Arthur?
Shi-san-Sei Million Arthur is Square Enix’s first Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project, focusing on the unique characteristics of NFTs that record ownership data and evidence on the blockchain. Part of the Million Arthur series.
This project provides digital experiences such as creating customized NFT digital stickers and accumulating points by attaching these NFT digital stickers to an online sticker holder. What is symbiosis?
Symbiosis occurs is Square Enix’s first global NFT (Non-Fungible Token) Collectible Art project. The project aims to create a new Web3 intellectual property (IP) built jointly by all players involved.
The project invites the community to explore interesting analysis of story points based on the background of the art, character equipment, and costumes. It delivers the thrill of unraveling an epic story with nearly 2 million characters, allowing you to collectively explore the mysteries of the world. It also includes some gameplay elements, such as item hunting based on a trail of clues.
By owning various NFTs, players can analyze the mysteries of the floating continent from different angles and search for items based on clues in the NFTs, creating a unique experience for each player. Ultimately, players will be taken to World Missions, missions that will determine the future of the floating continent. Three selected individuals will decide the fate of this story, and the entire player community will participate and witness the final outcome.

NFT information
NFT stands for “Non-Fungible Token” and refers to a token that represents something unique and is not fungible. Information related to the purchase and ownership of assets, such as transaction history, is recorded on the blockchain in a non-replicable way, making it very difficult to forge or alter. As a result, NFTs provide evidence of the uniqueness of the assets involved. A well-known standard for NFTs is ERC-721, commonly used on the Ethereum blockchain.

At this stage, the value of blockchain technology to the gaming industry is undeniable, but we have now entered an uncomfortable era. On the one hand, many major game developers and publishers around the world have been working on blockchain integration for some time. But on the other hand, many have done so quietly or avoided making public statements about the power of blockchain technology to improve games for both players and developers.
Square Enix has never done anything like this. Be ashamed. Through an open letter, investment strategy, and business briefing, Square Enix announced its intentions regarding blockchain, NFTs, and web3. In fact, I wrote it almost a year ago to that day. Why Square Enix’s SYMBIOGENESIS announcement matters A large part of the motivation behind the article’s sentiment was Square Enix’s vision. They see the added value of blockchain and are pursuing it without fear. This will pay dividends, starting with the release of SYMBIOGENESIS, one of the most unique game concepts we’ve ever seen inside or outside of Web3.
So I want you to remember this. As the bulls took the market back and the cryptocurrency winter thaw, Square Enix navigated through it all: innovating, investing, and building. The mainstream gaming media will continue to criticize companies like Square Enix until the results of their pioneering actions become part of the status quo, and then they will act as if they never uttered a word of ridicule.
